President Abraham Lincoln was the one who declared that Thanksgiving would be a national holiday in the US. It's celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November, so the actual date varies from as early as November 22 to as late as November 28, like this year. The irony of the holiday is that it is followed by "Black Friday", the biggest shopping day of the entire year. In other words, Americans spend Thanksgiving being thankful for all the things they have, and less than 24 hours later, they're elbowing each other in the chops at Walmart as they fight over a discounted TV because they want MORE.

So the guy was attempting a boston accent, but it kind of came out like a mix between boston and 1920s mobster. I was half expecting him to say, "So you think yer a wise guy eh?" at some point in the film. I swear that was the most majestic cute looking cat I have seen in a movie in a long time. I hope you do another comment search screen grab when the day comes that you do Terrifier 3. I can only imagine the number of results you would get back haha.

Fun fact: I worked at my local AMC Theater when this came out. Being the cleaner, I literally just sat back at the side of the theater and watched it for free. I loved it so much that when we were taking down all the massive posters for Thanksgiving, my managers let me have one. Now I have this giant rolled up Thanksgiving poster in my room and nowhere to put it up. Worth it though! 🤣

My best friends and I watched this, and I have to say that that opening scene is genuinely upsetting considering that people have been trampled to death and injured during Black Friday. It felt a little too real The rest of the film was pretty good for a gore fest! Genuinely had me guessing

I saw this film earlier this year and let me say I don’t usually get nauseous watching a horror film filled with gore but that stepmom being cooked alive then carved like a turkey about had me hurling in the toilet! Great film but safe to say I will never look at a Thanksgiving turkey the same EVER AGAIN😅 definitely would recommend if you watch this film don’t eat while doing so 😅

The scariest thing about this movie is the beginning before the title card. That shit would be really scary if it happened. Other than that, I really love this movie ngl. And I really forgot it's a spy glass movie!! Justice for queen Melissa! So idk if I will watch thanksgiving 2, But I'm most likely not gonna watch scream 7 if I'm being honest. Edit: forget to mention. Waiting for smile 2 reaction😁. It's THE horror movie of the year for me.

Rant incoming: That brutal intro was far too real, because employees and customers have actually died from big sale events like Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas, and so on. One incident which haunts me to this day is one about a pregnant employee who miscarried because she was pushed and trampled by customers. It's just so depraved in retail to a point of barbarism. "Oh PLEASE feed the cat!" That's why I hate it when animal owners get killed just as much as animals in films. Because the animal is left alone, hungry, and without protection/ comfort. An owner losing their pet in a film is just as horrible, resulting in eternal guilt for their failure to protect their little friends, and no longer having that little angel to cry with when times get rough. It sucks because my imagination/ depression won't let me think otherwise.

I liked your thoughts on Thanksgiving the holiday and you're reaction to the movie. As an American I have two thoughts about Thanksgiving, it's another excuse to eat a lot of food and be with your family. Jon Stewart perfectly described what my second thought is, “I celebrated Thanksgiving in an old-fashioned way. I invited everyone in my neighborhood to my house, we had an enormous feast, and then I killed them and took their land.” ETA: The sheriff in the movie is Detective Kincaid from Scream 3 and Sidney's husband.
