Howdy neighbor! First off what a fun project. It turned out great. Second. If you'd like to better blend the extra bit of gap left from the expanded head hole into everything else you could easily line the inside of the machine with poster board painted up to look like additional pit balls. It could potentially add a bit more stability to the animatronic as well since that cloth isn't doing much on its own. Cheers!

I think it would be cool to see red glowing LEDs in the eyes. I think you could do it with a battery pack and a couple of LEDs. I have a mascot head for my business that the eyes light up and I believe it is run off of two AAA batteries. :)
