As a person new to working with tools that you mention at 1:04 could you make a video showing how the sockets and hex's fit onto the torque wrench and what goes to what please/

If you got a real "crash" with this thing, you will have a bended/broken chassis instead of protected plastic parts. I have a friend with this installed. After a high speed low side crash the frame is almost tearing apart at the upper mounting point.

One of the few that got the top (classed as the middle) engine bolt torque spec correct

Questions: Could you show us what the bike looks like laying on the crash bars? Do these actually prevent to bike from coming in contact with the floor if the bike is dropped? Thanks!
@Casey_Schmidt Жыл бұрын
A couple problems with that. The main one is that I don’t own this bike anymore. The other is that I would never intentionally set my bike on the ground unless it was necessary to do so. I wouldn’t want to damage anything unintentionally.

I did not see a cross member between the two bars to keep the crashbar from bending into the bodywork in the event of a tipoover.
@Casey_Schmidt3 жыл бұрын
@Henry Wojtkiewicz - Your eyes are correct, there is no crossbar. These bars would save the bike from a low-speed/low-energy tip, but not much of anything beyond that.

Wouldnt it be better to make the hole bigger on the bars Instead of the bike? Consider buying these but dont wanna change the bike tho
@Casey_Schmidt3 жыл бұрын
@theultimateninja - Unless I am misunderstanding your question, I did drill out the bars to accept the bolt and did nothing to modify the bike.

Did u get more vibration after installing it ?
@Casey_Schmidt3 жыл бұрын
@Wild Devine Raj - Great question. I didn’t notice any difference in the amount of vibration after having them on the bike.

@@Casey_Schmidt thanks for the swift response,I just installed one today and I felt more vibration
@Casey_Schmidt3 жыл бұрын
@@wilddivine883 - Interesting. It isn't something I experienced with mine but I don't doubt that it might happen. I'd say double check that the bolts are torqued to spec, other than that, there probably isn't much that can be done about it. If you don't mind experimenting, you could try filling them with sand or lead shot which would dampen out the vibrations. I'm not saying I necessarily recommend that but it might be worth trying.

@@Casey_Schmidt thanks 🙏.... let me see the bolts.. I think if I need to fill anything inside I have to make a hole.... let me check with Honda as well coz I installed from some where outside, the vibration comes in 3000-4000 RPM, after that it’s fine.
@Casey_Schmidt3 жыл бұрын
@@wilddivine883 - If it is happening at a specific RPM range, then it is definitely something to do with the resident frequency of the crash bars, or the chassis as a whole. I can’t imagine it would hurt anything but it might get a bit annoying. If you find a solution let me know! I’d be interested to hear how you solve the issue.

Will these fit on a 2021 cb500f?
@Casey_Schmidt3 жыл бұрын
@liquifry - That’s a great question and I don’t not honestly know. My guess is that it should bolt onto the frame the same way. I say that because changing the position of engine mounts would be very expensive and I don’t think Honda would do that for a small facelift update. The real question is whether or not the new plastics would interfere and that is something I really don’t know.

Do I still need crash bars if I never plan on crashing my motorcycle because I’m a good driver?
@Casey_Schmidt4 жыл бұрын
@Bailey Jones - It’s a very good idea to have them because the public roads are a crazy and unpredictable place.

I thought the same thing. Wrecked my new cb500f with 800miles on it. Crash bars are the first thing I bought after having it repaired
@Casey_Schmidt4 жыл бұрын
@@toofastnobrakes - Sorry to hear about that! Similar to a phone case, crash bars can’t protect against all the damage to the bike during a crash or tip over, but they can help to prevent a good amount of it. I hope you’re safe and back on the road!
