I'm so soooo happy to have found a very cool guy talking about jazzmaster as a real lover of them. I was so bored to see reviews of guys playing broken blues solos and criticizing the sound just because it's not the guitar sound they like (and it's ok, but stop saying it's sounds worst than a lespaul.. there is no comparaison). You know what you are talking about, your channel is the best place to learn more about our favorite guitar, the jazzmaster. Thank you !

I’ve never played a better neck. I got a 72 Thinline reissue in the late 80’s and never thought I’d play a better guitar for me. It has a beautiful slim neck and over the years I’ve owed or tried so many others guitars and not found one to match ... then I got “Blue”. I can’t recommend the 60th Anniversary model enough. Obviously I’d always say switch out for a Mastery. Gonna go off and gab a hammer ...

Another fun video - thanks! For those who can't get past Pau Ferro, there are KZbin vids out there on using Fiebings Dark Brown Leather Colors Dye on the fretboard. I gave it a go with decent results. Highly recommend double or triple painter's tape on the neck (sides, back) as the dye can bleed through the tape into lacquer-coated necks if you accidently get the dye on the tape. Added bonus for those who like the clay dot look (I wouldn't recommend on block inlays), the dye can give the dots the clay look (ymmv). Before applying, I carefully and lightly scuffed with sandpaper the dots before applying the dye. After a day of letting the dye dry, I applied some Jasco Boiled Linseed Oil to seal/protect the fretboards. End result is a darker, lovely fretboard. You may get some dye on your fingers for a bit. :P

I have been playing offsets since 92 and have owned multiple Jazzmasters, Jaguars, and Mustangs. I have owned a couple 60s Jazzmasters, which I really regret getting rid of. I bought both the Classic Players when those first came out in like 2008. And I bought the Daphne Blue 60th anniversary in 2018. After putting a mastery bridge and replacing the pickups with custom made Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz for Jazzmaster, this has become my favorite Jazzmaster I have ever owned. I actually dig the look of the Pau Farro with the Daphne blue. However, I think the lighter fret color on the black looks a little silly. Anyway, long story short, I totally agree with this dude. Great guitar for a great price.

I've got one of these in Daphne Blue! Loved it, but I did also get some mods done to address literally every issue you mentioned in this video hahaha. I installed an AVRI trem and an American Pro bridge (the American Pro bridge is the 9.5" radius mustang-style one, supposedly Fender was given a Staytrem bridge to copy for the Johnny Marr Jag and they put the resulting bridge on the American Pro Jags and Jazzmasters) I got a Duncan Quarter Pound bridge & Antiquity II neck installed, and had the whole thing shielded. I did like the original pickups quite a bit, so I had them put into my Squier Classic Vibe JM. Now I have the Classic Vibe for more vintage Jazzmaster tones, and the Anniversary one to get a more powerful, modern sound. The guitar was already an 8/10 for me when I originally got it and with the mods it is SO FANTASTIC
