Third day on on Pukaskwa's Coastal Trail! Today was definitely a tough one for me. James did really well but even he said that he was pretty pooched by the time we got to the Willow River camp. I had fallen a couple times but more importantly, my Achilles tendon was causing me grief. It had previously tweaked and twinged in pain many times before but I was always able to walk freely within a matter of moments. This time however, the pain lasted much longer and I was trying to find what it was in my stride or the terrain that was making my Achilles give me a jolt of pain as often as it did.
It was time to rest, eat and take stock of next steps.
Special Note
Cell service is extremely spotty in the park (mostly none). I have had situations where I had bars but no phone or data. I would have signal, move, move back to the same spot and not get signal again. Ensure you have some form of method of Communication (Garmin InReach was mine) with someone outside the park who can contact the park and/or North Shore Adventures on your behalf.
