Decisions, decisions... 11.11 will be very contended. Just a question since I never really experienced a bone conduction driven IEM: does that BC propagates the vibrations through tips' silicon or the entire shell? How much does the fit (and the tips quality themselves) affects the final response? I've seen that you need to have a really snug and sturdy fit into your ear to get the best of it, but I usually settle with CP145 or Spring Tips depending on the IEM (whose domes are soft) - do you think it could be troublesome in any way? I'm very hyped but I'm a little bit concerned about it since I don't know what to expect, I'm almost convinced to give the Anvil the edge over the P5+2 although as a first look I think I could like the Aful's frequency response more (not a graph sniffer in any way, but still), just want to be reassured :) Also, do you think that the Anvil would benefit from the BC in gaming scenarios? Does it truly add a better sense of space that actually translates into good accuracy at spacial positioning and a nice holographic sound, or it's just a "fun gimmick" as a musical and entertaining quirk that doesn't add extra detail or precision? Thanks in advance! Coming from the CKLVX D41 I already know they probably are a good improvement, but I want to carefully evaluate all aspects in detail to get the clearest possible idea of what to expect from them :)
@Gizaudio23 күн бұрын
If I had to guess, I’d say the bone conduction driver works through the part closer to the nozzle. I believe this because, even with a very shallow insertion, I can still hear the bone conduction effect. The impact on mid-range texture and soundstage is noticeable even with a shallow fit, so you don’t need a specific fit for it to work. The soundstage on the Anvil is more spacious than the P7, but the imaging isn’t necessarily more precise. The P7 still excels in precision. I think the Anvil's soundstage will make the experience more enjoyable and immersive, but it won’t offer more precision than an IEM like the P7.

Nice review.Finally tunings are getting more mature and less excessive.There were too many pointless ones.I wish the fit issue improves as well still we need improvement.P7 and Anvil are a sidegrade or downgrade vs studio4 ?( I love strong instr.separation..)
@Gizaudio23 күн бұрын
Thanks. The Studio 4 still has the best detail and instrument separation of the three. However, the P7 and Anvil 114 outperform it in a few areas. For example, the P7 has more bass, while the Anvil 114 has stronger bass, richer mid-range texture, and a unique soundstage. Overall, I consider the Studio 4 an upgrade over the P7 and Anvil in many aspects, but not when it comes to bass or soundstage.

@90enemies I own DMA. It is great. Very addictive. Very comfy too. Can sleep with them. Has great quality BA's and overall sound. Sonion for mids and Knowles for high. 2 x Sonion BC and a Nickel 9.2mm DD that sounds full and liquid. Love it to bits. I wonder about the quality of the drivers used in the Pula Anvil in comparison. DMA is more expensive due to brands used. Does is still mean the sound quality is higher still, or does Pula close the gap?

Hi friend, I was planning to buy the Hidiz Mp145 to listen to music (Nu Metal, Metal, Rock) and to use it in the 3.5mm jack of the steam deck, as it has an excellent soundstage, but I just saw that they speak wonders of the Pula Anvil 114, and I think it can also meet the need I have for a iem to listen to music and play (The Witcher, Doom, Zelda, only campaign mode games, no multiplayer shooter), you recommend me? Mp145 ($100) or the Pula Anvil 114 ($160) I hope you can help me decide between those 2.

I wonder about the effect of BCD on measurement rigs. The way this driver works might require a different interpretation of the frequency graph we see. Also, this driver seems to need a lot of power to work properly.

would the P7 or Anvil be better for rock? e.g. Guns and Roses, Queens of the Stone Age, The Who, Rage Against the Machine etc.?
@Gizaudio23 күн бұрын
I listen to and love those bands. The P7 has better fit and comfort, with deeper sub-bass and more detailed treble. It’s very detailed with excellent separation. The Anvil, on the other hand, has stronger mid-bass impact, richer texture in the mid-range (like guitar strums and vocals), and a better soundstage. The biggest difference, though, comes from the bone conduction driver. That’s what truly sets it apart.

This is an excellent review, given the detailed description and comparisons to the Aful 5+2 and the previous Pula. This kind of information helps me make an informed decision. Given your review, I will choose the Pula over the Aful 5+2, which is difficult as I'm very loyal to the Aful brand. Again, this is a sign that you did an excellent job with your review. I have one bit of production feedback: Reduce the amount of hand movement so you're not knocking the IEMs around on the table. Also, please don't hold the IEMs while moving your hands. It is very distracting to watch. It would help if you considered leaving the IEMs on the table and pointing to them when drawing out informational detail unless you're referring to a specific physical feature on the IEM.

So, weird question/comparison Axel but hear me out: would you prefer this to Softears Studio4? Let me explain, for a lot of people me included it feels smack dab in the middle of price/quality ratio (while being absolutely beastly and awesome), you get good bass, awesome extension, wide and swirly soundstage, tooons of details but no sharpness, totally competes with 700$ sets. It just not “very fun” as in not very dynamic and could be slightly boring (very correct). The anvil seems to have it all and using this kind of tribrids setup seems to give it the edge in terms of special sauce, which the studio4 seems couldn’t attain with just (great quality) BAs. So if I’m not too wrong this could be some sort of upgrade or replacement to what the S4 did to the market in its time
@Gizaudio23 күн бұрын
Interesting comparison! Personally, I prefer the Studio 4, even over more expensive IEMs, simply out of preference. What I love about it is its natural, neutral sound, which provides an accurate listening experience. That said, the PULA Anvil is definitely more fun and enjoyable, and it outperforms the Studio 4 in a few areas, like bass, mid-range texture, and soundstage. The bone conduction driver is the special sauce that makes the Anvil stand out.

Hi, I follow you and I trust your words. I need your help, Davinci or Tanchjim Origin, which is the better purchase. I want to upgrade because I already have Meze Alba, Kato, Ikko oh10, Aria 1 and Aful Explorer. I listen mostly to jazz and a little soul, funk, fusion, chill..mostly means music without vocals. Thank you, happy work
@Gizaudio23 күн бұрын
The DaVinci has significantly more bass than the Tanchjim Origin, which is likely the biggest deciding factor between the two. The DaVinci’s added bass brings a fun, immersive quality to the music and adds depth, especially for instruments like cellos, drums, male vocals, and bass guitars. However, you might prefer the Origin’s lighter bass response, which keeps the focus on the vocals and mid-range, delivering just enough low-end for a balanced sound. The Origin's tuning enhances vocal clarity, making it a better choice for female vocals. Additionally, the DaVinci has a modular cable and a wider range of accessories.
