Accomodation & Snorkeling Package:
We stayed at Redang Pelangi Resort for 2 nights. Before the trip, we had booked our accomodation (Deluxe Room - 1 Queen bed) & snorkeling package through their website for RM540.00 per pax. Meals are inclusive as well, so it's a pretty good deal! (Just a sidenote: We did pay a little more for deluxe room, but definitely much more prettier than the standard room. To us, it was worth upgrading.)
How to get to Pulau Redang from Kuala Lumpur
Via Bus (Kuala Lumpur's TBS Bus Terminal" - Kuala Terengganu "MBKT Bus Terminal" -Jetty-Redang Island)
1. Puri and I booked our bus ticket via Redbus.com (www.redbus.my/) for RM89.00/return per pax (seems to be the cheapest with minimal processing fee) from KL "Terminal Bersepadu Selatan" to Kuala Terengganu "MBKT Bus Terminal.
2. The KL-Terengganu bus does not stop at the Jetty. So from the KT Bus Station, we've transferred to the resort's bus (we've pre-booked the bus transfer RM26.00/two-way per pax, and bus drop off (return from Jetty) for additional RM10.00 per pax) which brought us to the jetty (Merang Jetty), otherwise you can get a cab or Grab to the jetty.
3. From the jetty, boat transfer to Redang Island (which is included in the package. If you're late and miss the boat, there's a surcharge of RM55).
Via Plane (KL-KT Airport-Jetty-Redang Island)
1. You can also take a flight by AirAsia or Firefly which reached TGG airport by 8.30am
2. The bus will pick up from the airport if you pre-book the pick up, otherwise you can get a cab or Grab to the jetty.
3. From the jetty, boat transfer to Redang Island

The under water footages were shot using Puri's phone btw in a waterproof casing we bought right at the jetty 😂 our action camera that we wanted to use malfunctioned on our first snorkel!

The quality of this video is 👌The intro just blew my mind with the perfect golden hour lighting and slow motion. Nice idea with the 12 hours earlier! Snorkelling with the turtle looks incredible. Redang is definitely one of our favourite island here in Malaysia!! We haven't learn diving yet at that time, but even the snorkeling experience was incredible! So excited that you guys are considering to visit that place!

Stay away from this state. I refuse to set foot there since the caning of the two young women that shamed Malaysia in front of the world. Terengganu doesn't deserve any tourist money and anyone with morals will spend their money elsewhere. Haha yea we've been swamped lately but really glad to be back 😄 The turtles were really friendly. Sue did get bitten but it was because she was holding on to a squid and one of the turtles sneaked up from behind and snapped at her fingers trying to eat the squid. So, yea got to be careful 😬

Hi there Ammar! The bus transfer was actually provided by our resort. Probably you can check with your Resort if they do provide the transfer service, and do check with them which Jetty and time they'll be picking you up to go to the Island to avoid missing your boat! For us, we took the 3D2N package from Redang Pelangi which included a return bus transfer to the jetty. When we arrive at the KT Bus Terminal, we went to the Redang Pelangi office to wait for the bus. They also offer bus transfer services to the jetty even if you didn't take their packages or stay at their resort. You may visit their website here for more information: www.redangpelangi.com/services.php . Hopefully this helps you smoothen your Redang trip!

Guys I see you've been to Redang and Tioman. Not sure whether you've been to the Perhentians as well. Which island do you recommend that isn't full of daytrippers, boats parked on the beach and has more of a paradise vibe in terms of quality of beaches etc?

Im travelling alone, and this is my first ever experience in backpacking (I'm 17 and also this is my first time abroad without my parents), so I wanted to ask if you guys pre-ordered the tickets for bus? I mean the one from Kuala Terengganu to jetty. Or you bought it straight away at the station? (that would so helpful, when u travel alone and don't speak Malay, it's kinda challenging to make your brain function)

Hi there! We have booked the land transfer from Kuala Terengganu Bus Station to the Jetty (return transfer) from our resort. We paid additional RM30/pax for return transfer. Are you staying over night at Redang Island? You could ask your resort if they have the land transfer service. I think it is much more convenient to get it from the resort itself, also, do note that there is two Jetty (Merang Jetty and the Shahbandar Jetty), you'll need to ask your resort which Jetty will they be picking you up from for the boat transfer. Although it is common to speak Malay here, most Malaysian speaks some English, so don't hesitate to ask around if you need help! :)

Yes totally agree to book early! We got our stay+snorkeling package from Redang Pelangi, link as follow www.redangpelangi.com/ . You may be able to contact and book with your hotel/resort. But we're not too sure about snorkeling package separately alone.
