So happy someone is saying what needs to be said about Theo. I CANNOT believe the amount of hate he's got for this season so far. I get it, this season has been one of his worst, and there were glimpses of this level last season as well, but Theo's committed to us for so long, we need to support our players when they are at their worst as well as when they're at their best.

Agree and disagree. He’s been at fault for a lot of goals conceded and points dropped.
@nucleus14reticularis15 күн бұрын
I disagree also. I am not a Theo hater. I am a fan of AC Milan, which is more important than just any one of its players. In this game, at the end of the 1st half, Theo gave up his 3rd goal in the last 3 consecutive games. I don't care about his offense (keep in mind, Pulisic is the one who hustled to the Theo ball, surprising the defender much like Pulisic did in drawing the penalty kick against Juventus); Theo is a defender, and he should be judged on his defense, and this game was his typically IRRESPONSIBLE performance. This is an empirical fact. (1) At 37:40, Theo let's Lautaro through but luckily Mkhitaryan takes the shot himself and it goes wide. While Thiaw was there, he was flat-footed and Theo could see that and should have stayed on Lautaro. (2) Regarding the goal at the end of the 1st half, Theo jogs back, gets turned around, and then tries to swing back around too slowly and slides his leg out. Thiaw is right there jockeying correctly, so Theo needs to close down Lautaro immediately. (3) At 70:52, Lautaro cuts back but instead of closing him down, Theo slows down only to find Lautaro dishing off to Dumfries, which should have been Theo's cover if he's not going to close down Lautaro. Essentially, Theo lets both players go right by, which leads to Augusto's header that hits the post and almost goes in. (4) At 74:22, Theo just walks and lets Dumfries jog right by. If Lautaro got to that through pass on the left, he would have fed Dumfries on the right side, and Theo would have been caught in no-man's-land again. (5) At 75:05, Theo jogs back and peels away irresponsibly to get ready for a possible counterattack, leaving Barella alone against Thiaw, who slides and kicks the ball away. In this play, Theo wasn't the only one at fault, because Fofana should have closed down Barella as well. (6) At 82:56, Zielinski gives a through ball to Tharemi, but Theo does not close down to assist Thiaw and, as usual, slows down and peels away to a walk, while Dumfries rushes past Theo to help out Tharemi. (7) At 86:46, the long ball gets to Frattesi while Theo jogs back, not even trying to get goal side. Thank God, Thiaw's slide gets the ball. If Theo had sprinted to goal side even before the play emerged, which is what he should have done, he could have even dispossessed the ball himself. (8) At 94:54, Theo closes down Bisseck and shouts out and swings his arm out in satisfaction. That was the very 1st time all game that he actually tried to play lockdown defense! In sum, 7 "incidents" in 1 game is a hell of a lot and goes on to describe what Theo does in EVERY SINGLE game. Also, notice how many of the 7 Theo "incidents" included Thiaw, who single-handedly compensated for Theo's lack of defensive interest (although Thiaw did give up the 2nd goal). The only defense that can consistently compensate for Theo's blatant defensive irresponsibility is the France national team. This is about the only game that AC Milan's defense was able to partially compensate for Theo's willful defensive incompetence, luckily.

Great price kush. I agree, Pulisic is the best player of the Tournament. I think credit should be given to the management too for the rapid change in replacing Fonseca with Sergio. I also think the Fonseca firing made the players to change their attitude. Fonseca pushed Leao to do better, that is what he was doing with Theo too,which I think Sergio has benefited. No one hates the players but I always say. Milan is bigger than any player, the team comes first than your interest. Coming back from 2 down to win is huge. Now, they'll always have the belief that they're never out. Of course, we don't want that every match! But being able to come back against a quality club is so important for the future!

Well said my man. I wanna see 442 from the start on Saturday. Both times Milan was able to turn the tides of the games was when he switched personnel and formations to have both Tammy and morata playing together and pulisic on the right and Leao/ jiminez on the left. Now this means that tijanis position relative to the front 4 will be much different. I think you play Tammy high with morata as the second striker with Leao on the left and Chris on the right. Then you have tijani and Fofana playing behind them. Thoughts.

I would love to see Alex Jimenez given a shot at RB behind Pulisic..It's a position we've struggled with where Calabria is a bit injury-prone and Emerson is just not it and needs some competition to step up. I really like the way he plays and carries himself on the pitch.

The latest is always the sweetest though Milan have pulled quite a few comebacks against Inter over the years - including a legendary goal by Seedorf that overcame a 2-0 lead back in 2004. What makes this special that it was a title-wining performance against Inter on Day 8 of a new coach taking over. Recover, recuperate and then onto Cagliari.

Super happy with the trophy, hopefully a start of a beautiful story. On your analysis: I think you are missing Theo's responsibility on the first goal. Solely blaming Emerson is poor attention to detail. Theo switched off just as much and jogged his way back in position. Let's not make him the team's scapegoat. His performance throughout the game was not that bad. One of the lesser performances of the team but still not a bad one. We have to remember the good and the back for each player. Great start of the calendar year!

Yes, really hoping that's the case. See, my issue with Emerson in this case is more the switch off and walk while the opponent is sprinting to get the ball. I think the entire backline is to be blamed for the goal being conceded but had Emerson stayed switched on, nothing may have even transpired to begin with. Do I think he is terrible, no. Do I think he gets more hate than needed, yes.

I'm telling you that girt and intensity is so important. And Milan has been missing that Intel now.

Leaos pass to Abraham was absolutely perfect - hits it into the ground so that it bounces over Bisseck who's trying the block the pass and again touches the ground right in front of Abrahams feet. That's why Leao is so frustrating - the guy can do everything if he puts his mind to it.

I was at the stadium at Milan vs Juve sitting just behind Stefano Pioli, and close to jack Benuventura the Milan fans were definitely the majority and the loudest. Felt like a home game even Pioli was smiling at the Milan fans cheering on the team. Next time we need the curva sud here to lead the fans with the Milan chants.

Good wins against Juventus and Inter. Theo and Leao back in old form. A title! Now Conceicao has to make this team perform much much better against "lesser" teams from the start of the matches. Serie A teams play more defensive and tactical football than in for example the PL. Milan have beaten Real and Inter before but now we need to step up against defensive teams and play better against them to get points in Serie A.

With regards to Theo, news today has been going around in Milan that he is close to renewal. As for MVP of the supercup, it's hard not to give it to Leao considering the massive impact he had in the decisive match (took part in all 3 goals). Pulisic deserves it too though for both games.
