Pull-out trash bin with an Ikea Hallbar bin hack

Here’s a video of how I made a hidden trash bin by doing an Ikea hack. It was really easy and anyone can do it within an hour. Just make sure to have everything you need. Aside from the tools, all you actually need is a bin, a couple of drawer slides, and some double-sided tape.

This is such a great hack! I've been wanting a bin that I can hide and considered the Hallbar, unfortunately I have the same space issue as you. But you just solved that for me! Thank you! I do have a question, what size bags did you use for the bin?

For better cleanability: To clean the bin you could use a thin wooden plate (screwed to the slides) with holes for the feet of the bin, instead of cutting them off and sanding it

Hmmm? I’m not sure. You can try. It doesn’t cost much and you can just peel off the tape if it fails with the help of a blowdryer. Otherwise, you can always cover-up the holes with some fillers when you move out

Hi Claire! I use Glad Large or XL. But keep in mind that brands may have different numerical categories of the different sizes. Hope this helps
