FitAnge S Ha! When I do potato salad, you never know what I'll come up with. Once in a rare while, I'll actually follow a recipe, but most of the time, like this one, I just make it up as I go.

***** LOL! When I first walked out there, he had something of a "deer in the headlights" look, but when he realized I wasn't going to kill him, he did look a bit full of himself. Like, "Lookit what I got away with." The pork was excellent, and I didn't have to cook for 4 days or so.

***** LOL! I've heard that same rumor... I let the pork go a little longer. I'd been taking it to around 200°, but this time I let it go to 205, and the difference was very noticeable. It was *as* juicy, but it shredded much easier. I was pleased! By the time I got the bacon in it, the tater salad *was* looking like a self contained meal, wasn't it? It was good schtuff!

Southern Coastal Cooking ™ Bacon makes anything better. LOL! I don't remember when I started adding it to potato salad, but it just seemed natural, and it really does take it to another level.

imperceptibleme LOL! You have sharp ears, Melissa. That was like the ultimate test, and when it pulls out like that, it's as good as it gets. It was *really* yummy, and I don't know why we don't do things like this more often.

Pulled Pork is one of my favorite ways to enjoy pork. By the way. my new BBQ is on the way. The same Monsturz must commute back and forth from my place to yours. I'm going to try your recipe for the potato salad. Never made it myself before and yours looks mighty tasty...
@Anonymoose
@Anonymoose 9 жыл бұрын
mobiltec It's hard to beat, Larry, and one of my favorites, too. And when you think of it, there's nothing to it. Just put a good rub on it, and ignore it all day. A new BBQ? Good news! Next time the monsturz show up at your place, I won't complain if you keep them. LOL Potato salad can be a personal thing after you've made it a few times. It's so versatile you can tailor it to your own tastes on a given day. I rarely make it exactly the same way twice. This batch was really good!

Anonymoose I'll do a short vid on my new cooker. It's not real big because it's portable. But it's got a temp gauge and a griddle and you carry it like a suit case. Think I'm gonna like this camping....

Where did you get the recipe for the potato salad from? That is not how I make it but it looks great and I am going to try it soon. I love potatoes.
@Anonymoose
@Anonymoose 9 жыл бұрын
lidsman2221 That's a recipe that's just evolved over time. Somewhere in the past I started with several good printed recipes, and a little at a time I modified them to suit me. Now, I pretty much do it to suit my mood, so it's rarely the same twice in a row.

Wow, that looked so good. I'm gonna have to have my husband smoke the pork next time I have a roast. Have you thought about getting "The Little Green Egg?" My nieces husband has one and he produces some fantastic smoked meats.. My husband may get one for Father's day. :)) Your cat is too funny with her mess! haha
@Anonymoose
@Anonymoose 9 жыл бұрын
***** It came out *really* well, Judy. Slow smoking takes some practice, but when you get it, the results are sensational. The Green Eggs are really nice grills and smokers, but they use charcoal, and I've gotten too lazy for charcoal. I'm also too cheap to buy something new when my old gasser keeps working so well. LOL There are times when I think Rocky is testing me, just to see what he can get away with. :-)

You know there must be some piggery going on when you drink Miller out of a Coors glass LOL
@Anonymoose
@Anonymoose 9 жыл бұрын
foodquig Haha! It borders on debauchery. And to make matters worse, it's a genuine original mid 60s Coors mug, imported directly to Blacksburg, Virginia from the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado, in the back of a VW Microbus. LOL
@Anonymoose
@Anonymoose 9 жыл бұрын
mehquig ROFL!! And the kicker is that I'm not kidding. Those were the college years at Va Tech, just about the time Arlo was writing Alice's Restaurant, and I had a friend who really had an honest to God '63 (or thereabouts) Microbus. I could write a book about the adventures we had in it. At that time, Coors was not sold east of the Mississippi, so it was highly prized. It was customary that when *anyone* went out west, they were required to bring back as much as they could stuff into their cars. So he and a few other friends went to Colorado for a climbing trip, in his Microbus which, with a half dozen people in it, wouldn't climb the slightest hill in any higher than 2nd gear. While they were out there, they visited the Coors brewery, packed the ass end of it with Coors, threw in a set of mugs and a pitcher for me because I'd asked, and I think they drove from there back to Virginia in 2nd gear. LOL

tweetnes I love the stuff, and don't make it often enough. And an advantage of dong it yourself is that you don't have to accept how someone else does it, you can do it *your* way. Trust me. The cat did it. He's a total slob and never cleans up after himself. LOL

Awesome, u know I have always liked the way u have your spices across the back of your counter within reach always... did u make those shelves yourself? & if not where did u get them. I really want some like that. Kitty witty had fun tearing up stuff...aw so cute! hahahaha Well I made a pork roast in the crock pot...my kind of cooking...LOL...
@Anonymoose

3greatgreyhounds3 I've always wanted that spice setup, with everything just right there, and looking good at the same time. When I built the new kitchen, it was just a natural requirement. I found the spice racks at the Tubular Spice Co - tubularspices dot com. There are three, and I have them screwed together. And if / when I need more space, I can just add another unit. They're great! There are times when I believe Rocky is testing me, to find out how much he can get away with. This was one of those times. LOL

Oh cool on the spice racks, I thought u might have put some together to make it long. Rocky is a handsome kitty...he can't get in trouble...nooo he's trying to tell u he needs a cat friend to play with. LOL... ;o/// Meow!

I like the fast forwarding better than the transitions, or the forbidden jump cuts. BUT i have a suggestion, mute the video during the fast forward and insert you making random speed noises like car sounds or going zoom zoom or whatever. Just for some comedy
