I enjoy watching you videos. You do a really good job at testing your Nox in the different settings and with the different coils. You have asked for questions, so being fairly new to the Portland area, how do you find good OLD dirt to search? Have you ever used the Oregon Historical Sites website? It is pretty impressive on searching for possible old sites to search.

Think about someone finding the Barber dime and they dropped it. I bet that happens.

Thank you so much Michelle! So to answer your question (and this is just my experience), multi-frequency tends to make things more smooth and whole in some ways- like aluminum foil for instance. For example, You’ll be detecting in single frequency and it will give you jumpy TID’s, maybe in the high teens, then you switch to multi-frequency to cross check, and multi will give you a solid 12/13 TID (this could be anything from foil, to pull tab to nickel or gold. This isn’t always a good thing by the way, because multi-frequency in my experience reports more micro-trash and is noisier, often reporting whole-sounding signals on trash whereas single frequency will reveal a jumpy TID and give the trash away. Single frequency in my experience is just quieter on the ground noise and generally less susceptible to EMI. I find the deeper the coin (or non-ferrous target) both multi-frequency and single frequency both get a little jumpy. However if your experiencing TID jumping from the high 20’s or 30’s and going down to the teens- be very suspicious, this could be iron or aluminum. I find when multi-frequency and single frequency both report consistent smooth signals and TID I get good targets. I love using multi-frequency to cross-check all my targets, it takes seconds and you learn a lot about what’s under the coil😊
