Here on my channel, I am renovating a 250 year old stone cottage on my property in Normandy, France. By using traditional, low-waste and off-grid methods, I'm aiming to keep the charm and character of this old building, and turn it into a furnished, finished home for family whilst keeping environmental impact as low as possible. There will also be content on living in France, visiting beautiful rural places, hunting for antiques, gardening and more! Hit subscribe if you would like to keep up with my journey, and hit the notification bell to be alerted when we go LIVE where we have a first viewing of the video as it is published with a live chat so I can answer all your questions! Sean, you can put a trellis in the bed for the zucchini, and grow them vertically. They will keep the vines from growing out into the lawn.

I made a trellis once about 4 feet by 6 feet, with 4 inch squares of fencing wire and a wooden frame and put legs on it so it was like an A frame..the zucchini hung down the back and was easy to pick and didn't rot on the ground but the leaves have to face into the sun side..

I grow mine vertically and it's truly a lifesaver. Even just sticking a standard large tomato cage around them as they grow up helps keep them contained without going the full vertical staking/pruning route like I do.

OMG. I remember when my Dad made Sloe Gin. He was a perfectionist. I read out the recipe and he performed the actual process. Talk about, "when Father papered the parlor". I never tasted it as I was only 10 or 12. When it matured, or whatever it did, it was offered to everyone who called in at ours. The Catholic priest went back to the Presbytery singing rugby songs. He sent one of his parishioners the next day to pick up his car as he (the priest) was very unwell.

I'm guess you do your own Mower blade sharpening? With out drainage pipe we covered the end with good 6" chucks of cement (or bigger) in a drain field dug 2 feet below and another 2 foot above and 10 feet out. Keeps the animals out, and keeps it from freezing shut in the winter. We can't have an exposed end with how cold it gets here. Been that way 15-20 years, never had a problem with it backing up. Of course we also have probably a 50 yard long pipe, and it slopes down probably a good 10 foot from top to bottom as well which helps keep the flow up.

Loved mopping with the kittens!!! Front loading washers DO work well. We did laundry a few years ago while staying with our eldest kids. They have a front loading washer & dryer. We needed new ones, waited for a good sale, got front loading. I think clothes get cleaner & last longer, maybe due to new agitator?
