I made my hitch. Been using it for 15 years now. I pull my car hauler with my tractor.

From Australia Just found your channel. Amazing information. I’m looking at buying a S170 John Deere & your videos are helping heaps. 🙏🏼 Just a thought, you could do some KZbin shorts with some of the tips from all your existing videos. Just get some edits done, you have so many great tips throughout all of your videos! Your footage is already done! Good luck!

I have a 2016 Cub Cadet XT2 tractor, and ordered a similar hitch from Amazon in 2024 ($37.81 total, Elitewill brand, although instruction sheet says Kingcher C76). My kit included pair of short and long side arms, which did fit on my 2016 CC. I had the hitch installed for about 1-month, never towed anything, then removed the hitch due to second thoughts about ruining my mower (engine &/or hydrostatic transmission) which I need to mow 2-acres. I recently bought a 3600-pound electric trailer dolly from Amazon to move my trailer.

I have no issues with my 87 wheelhorse, 312, pulling my 16' tandem axle, around with fire wood on it. They made things to last then. Not no china pop medal rear ends. It also has hi low

Thanks for the video. Do you put a battery maintainer charger on your battery through the year? To keep the battery up?

Hey Ron, I would if I was going to go more than two weeks without starting and running the engine for several minutes.

I have a JD LA 125 with the same hitch on the back and a hand made ball hitch on the front also but I’m only jockeying around a 13’ long 750 lb trailer mostly empty. My SCAG Zero turn is rigged up with a trailer ball hitch on the rear only for the same trailer. No troubles with either one so far. Great video.

@@chuckcawthon3370 Be careful as to how much load you pull with that tractor. I had one of the same series and the transmission started slipping around 350 hours. Not the drive belt but the actual transmission. It is still usable on a flat ground for mowing but put it under a load and after about 5 minutes it starts to slip.

What you have is a lawn mower what you need is a garden tractor they have different transmissions in them of course I know they're the same size but they have a much better power

You could perhaps add some weight to the front bumpers to help keep it from lifting. Many of our farm tractors had weights added on.

Great channel!! If you were to buy a lawn tractor today which one would you purchase? I've watched several of your videos and each has its pros/cons but your expertise should be able to single one out. My parents yard is about the same size as the ones in this video. They are in their early 80's and my father is still using a push mower so I would like to get him one. Thanks for any advice. Respectfully, Mark L.

Depends on the budget on what I get. Budget "friendly" Lawn tractor- Cub Cadet with a Fabricated deck and v twin. Higher end lawn tractor = John Deere X300s are really good mowers. Lower end zero turn - again, any Cub Cadet with a Fabricated deck, or a Toro Timecutter Max or Titan models. Your dad might like a Toro Model with "my ride" suspension. Also I recommend buying from a dealership vs a big box store. Consider who will be able to warranty repairs if needed, getting parts etc.

I have a commercial mower by Ransomes and I tow with it all the time but then again it is 1500 pounds.

From experience use large flat washers on thin sheet metal. This helps as long as you use some common sense. Wet grass is not a good traction medium.

Seems that it would be better to have a hitch on the front end, as your body weight would be over the drive tires.

Hey CJ, I know Blake and Rob. I just talked to Rob the other day. I'm the one that builds those trimmer racks that you guys sell. I do like the new Toro Timecutter Max and Titans. Scag is my favorite.
