Hey Jesse been a long time viewer and big fan of your videos I hope you don’t mind me asking a question I have a 2000 3500 6.5 with a ds4 and I’m throwing a P0251 code and that’s the only code I have and it’s kinda running sluggish and when I go down the road the gears change at high rpm and I don’t really know how to troubleshoot the injection pump without changing the whole thing if you have any ideas for that’d be great Thanks for all you do!

Jesse, I'm having a problem with my truck (1994 K2500 LD 6.5 TD W/EGR 4L80). Coolant Gage is showing no temperature regardless of a hot engine or a cold one, I did a bunch of tests for the correct voltage as per Shopkey on what the sensor wires should get, and everything seems to be right between the computer and the sensor (it even jumps in idle speed when disconnected, and throws a code). The stepper motor seems to work, if I move the gage to a different position and hit the key, it moves back to the normal zero spot, and when I turn the key on it normally moves to zero anyways. I can't find a wiring diagram that covers the wires from the computer to the instrument panel, so I'm kind of lost. do you think it's wiring, or computer related? and if it's the wiring or even still maybe the stepper motor for the gage, how can I test this and go through fixing it? Any help would be appreciated. You are the ultimate 6.5 resource as far as I'm concerned and I love your channel. Thank you.

Hey Jesse, really hope you see this comment because I would greatly value your feedback. I'm at the point where I'm needing to order a long block 6.5 and after every company I read I just hear horror story after horror story .... have some money saved up for this but took a while and really terrified to possibly throw it all away on a shoty rebuilt block so if you have any good recommendations I'd seriously appreciate it, also if anyone in the comments has a good history with a company that they would recommend would definitely greatly appreciate the wisdom.

I got some issues with a starter on my 94 chevy 6.5 diesel it seem like I can't get the right mesh on the ring gear and Starter gear. Do you have any suggestions?

Not related to the video, I’m sorry. But I have a 1995 6.5 and today when I went to take my son out for a drive, I lost 90% braking power. Emergency brake light is illuminated. No visible leaks on the floor or unit, reservoir is full. I am stumped on what could cause this since I just drove it a few days ago with no issues. If you or anyone in the comments can help me out, I’d appreciate it. This is my first 6.5 I have owned.

@@fears4gears734 yes it does. I took a look a few hours later and brake fluid had seeped out of the rear passenger wheel but oddly enough my reservoir is still on the fuller side. So I’m going to fix that tomorrow and look into the hydro boost if it persists.

@@SirGuidemere91 Maybe an air bubble got sucked into the system, if the leak is fixed and the system is rebled, any further issues would probably be hydroboost related as fears4gears said.
