I’m getting fuel to the injection pump just not out of it to the injectors. The fuel shut off solenoid works fine and I just replaced the PMD…what do you think the issue would be?

I wouldn't run the CAT filters anymore. The new FASS filters with their Extreme Water Separator is lightyears ahead of what the CAT and Airdog filters can do. When this video was made, the CAT filters were the shit, but not anymore.

You make it look so easy been so intimidated to do it. I recently changed the gear oil and new rtv gasket so trying to think it's kinda like that but you just got to take more bolts off, haha.

I've got a leaking valve cover and wondering if you normally replace anything else while it's off like the covers, cdr valve, intake gasket, lines or what sort of things do you look for? And you just need a line wrench, basic wrenches and rtv anything else?

I'm watching all this because I'm living in a Chevy Express 2000 highroof. Like really high. It has 5.7, but with all the weight i think i prefer a diesel. Plus i would like to 4x4 swap it eventually. I was thinking about putting a centrifugal supercharger on the 5.7, but i like the idea of a turbo diesel more. Plus possibility of a mechanical pump i want go that way makes it interesting.

Really wish you lived closer to me and or had a way to help me out with my 6.5 I want to get alitte more power outta her but no to much to where it hurts it as well as I'm having afew small issues I can't figure out with I think blow by I believe but no coolent in oil or oil in coolent or anything so idk what that is

Great video you really know your mechanics. I have a 93 chevy 6.5 1 ton. I have no power to the ignition. I checked the fuses and they are good and so are the batteries. Would the glow plug relay or the glow plugs cause no power to the ignition. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Well, damn . I'm going to have to rebuild my truck's engine. It has blow by and blown head gaskets. I guess I can't complain because I got my 94 for free, but still.

Owned my '99 GMC 6.5 for twenty years and can commiserate! Relocated the PMD to the driver's side fender only for ease of replacement, but that's the only reason. In my experience they almost always fail in warm to hot weather and I keep a spare in the truck although I've seen them last a few years without incident. Very puzzling. Each time they just shut the truck off almost always in drive (automatic) at an idle! I've even thought about placing a small cooling fan next to it. Lol Other than that, it pulls good and gets about 13 mpg even though it's in a bucket truck and is pretty heavy. Subsequently it sees a lot of idling and in the summer I keep the hood up when using the bucket. If someone ever designs a bullet-proof pmd there will be dancing in the streets!

I have a 1995 gmc k1500 new injection pump new lift pump a couple of the Iines are new. I drive it 80 to 100miles and it will die out and ill have to pull over to rebleed it. What do you think this could be everything else is original. Has no fuel leaks also

I think your description on the wastegate is backwards, at least compared to my computer controlled 98. Spring pressure holds the wastegate open, and then when the vacuum solenoid applies vacuum to the wastegate it pulls it closed giving you boost. Vacuum gives you boost. This is opposite what you'd expect and means if you have a vacuum leak or vacuum solenoid failure you get 0 boost, rather than full boost in case of a failure.

Maybe you can tell me if 93 GMC 3500 hd 6.5 t has a mechanical injector pump as opposed to having PMD? it has a $1300+ injector pump spent a hella long exploration looking for a problematic PMD that i believe does not even exist in this series. Single cab dually 4×6 i am restoring so far it has taken me everywhere i pointed nose. First really deep muddy clay deep ass ruts, went through like it made for it, got in through went to remove from 4wheel realized it was even in 4wheel engaged turned around and was disappointed in how easy it was, without 4× 6 was cake walk anyhow 4x4 took any driving skills and pushed them face down in the deep ass mud. Am curious about that 93 hd and mechanical injector pump if already know otherwise NO REPLY NEEDED AND THANKS AGAIN FELLOW AMERICAN🇺🇸✌🏼🤞🏼

Im new at this and have had my 1994 chevy cheyenne c3500 6.5 turbo diesel and resently new rebuild trans 3500.00 but the same problem happen a week of driven it wouldnt shift out of second gear its automatic and i have drove it a few times sence with no issues and would really like to have a better scan tool please provide me with the info for scan equipment . I bought this truck 7 years ago out of a field rats had the wiring all messed up fixed all that and been driveing untill the shift problem. Looking at buying a 1995 wolverine from the original owner from new. Thing is mint with a bunch of factory accessories on it. $2000 runs great. Do a lot of trail riding had a new 06 yfz450 for years and got out of the sport when I moved to the city back in 2014. Getting back into riding with the wife and looking for something fun and trail ready. Think it would be a fun trail toy to play and pair with our grizzly’s. Missing light weight sport quads but at the mercy of our terrain and 4x4 is almost a must.

hey man I've got a question for you about an older video, I'm having some optical sensor troubles and I'm trying to figure them out, I've already pulled and cleaned the sensor, and I'm running diesel kleen through it too, but its still doing it. I also had noticed that in my injection pump whatever the OS mounts on moves, should that be that way?
