Life hack: Use a disposable puppy training pad under the bike when working on it. The plastic backing will prevent fluids from getting to the floor and the absorbent material on top will soak up any fluids that do spill out.

Hi mate, how come you removed the oil cooler? Are there any advantages or disadvantages to doing this?
@tylerhumphreys5312 Жыл бұрын
6 months later! The oil cooler is for when the bike is sitting in traffic. On the track there is enough constant air flow it isn’t needed. Less weight, less weight, and one less spot to break

@tyler I’m building an sv650 swapped golf cart, would it be possible to remote mount the carbs using tubing or do you want them as close as possible to the motor?

Hey, can you please tell me why you went for the oil cooler delete?
@tylerhumphreys53123 жыл бұрын
It saves weight and is one less thing to damage in a crash. For race bikes the bike doesn’t need to extra oil cooler.
@Matthews_Media3 жыл бұрын
@@tylerhumphreys5312 Thanks. I understand the weight and damage argument as if the oil cooler gets damaged and loses oil there is big trouble on the track... But I cant believe that a track bike would be able to do without the cooler especially since you rev it to the redline all the time and past the redline when braking into a corner... The bike should run much hotter and therefor need the cooler
@bradster17082 жыл бұрын
@@Matthews_Media You are correct that the engine creates more heat on the track but at the same time the radiator is much more effective because it has a constant flow of high speed air passing through it. The main cause of engine over heating is stop/start traffic. Road bikes have larger radiators to allow for riding in traffic.

Hey, it dosent look like you have a seat pan either, but do you possibly know where you can get a plastic seat for the sv650? Also what year is your bike?
@tylerhumphreys53124 жыл бұрын
My bike is a 2005. From 03 to 09 they are all pretty much the same. I prefer the stock seat but if you put any superbike tail on it the stock seat needs to be swapped out for a hard plastic one or a foam pad.
