Exactly! That’s why the comments blow me away. So many questions and/or comments on precisely what they showed and explained in great detail, just to be followed up with “why”. 🤷🏻♀️
@joycejones29796 ай бұрын
Doug, anyone that has watched you for any time KNOWS that you wouldn’t do ANYTHING that’s not “up to code” in your constructing of the mobile home. You’re so “low key” and “calm” that you don’t show your frustrations with some of the comments you must get. I think that because you are that way they don’t bother you as much. I think it would drive me bonkers! I think you’re doing a fine job as you have done in the past and I’m looking forward to every step!💕

What s nice way to start my day -another video from you! Never thought I’d have strong opinions on wiring, but over the years, as our family grew, as my husband and I reno’d run down homes we could afford, slowly gaining in size and quality to building new thru’ sweat equity, I have developed definite opinions. We LOVE tidy, straight, labeled electrical! It’s a joy, actually. Lol. The irony is-two years ago we sold the last large home we built, as we are now empty nesters. It was snapped up on day one. What did we buy? Our very first mobile home, which has a full-length stick-build attachment, doubling the square footage-a cave-like fixer-upper with possibilities. We’re back at opening things up and fixing them once again. Finding some (cough) interesting and unique takes on how a home should be built and maintained. But-we knew this would be a project. My husband retires in 1 1/2 years, (I work from home as a writer and editor) and we’re aiming to have the place fixed up to our liking in our cozy, last, no stairs home by then. Hint-downsizing is a thing and feels like freedom.

I've seen and been involved in a lot of remodels/renovations, but I've never actually watched the entire process of electrical wiring being installed. And the only reason I did this time is because it was on DIYfferent otherwise I would have passed it up.😊 As quickly as possible, I wanted to share something that I thought the kids might enjoy doing since they're both so creative. You may already be familiar with the process --it's a very old technique. But if you take a cheap loaf of white bread and remove the crust, break up the bread into small pieces and drizzle Elmer's white glue over it-- it will make a puddy that can be shaped into practically anything you want. It makes really pretty roses. I used to make them a lot. You let them dry completely and then paint them or you could add food coloring to the dough and put stems ( before it's dry)if you want. I also would make sunflowers, toy food like hamburgers etc. for my daughter to play with. I thought Belle might like to try making flowers or even bug models 😊 and Maverick could make dinosaurs if he likes dinosaurs 🤷♀️ or turtles, robots, anything really. In fact, I think you would all enjoy doing it together just for something fun to do as a family. I've even made roses and rosettes and used them as molding on a piece of furniture I was refurbishing. Same for old picture frames. Just stain and varnish or paint after the molding dries. Anyway, I just thought perhaps the kids might find it fun to do. You guys have a nice day! Smooth exit Maverick!😊 Bye kids 👋 have fun!

I have that exact wire stripper and I absolutely agree with you. It always gets locked up on me and I don't catch it until I try to use it. The BLUE handled strippers by Klein don't do that, BUT, it does not have the insulation stripper part. However, it does have a 10-gauge stripper on it unlike the YELLOW handle one.
