Good morning Doug and Eevee! I agree on the dishwasher and garbage disposal. We took out our garbage disposal when we bought our house and we’ve never had a dishwasher and don’t want one! People today rely too much on needless things and get lazy in the process! Your videos make me happy. You two and your family are what makes America the great Country it is!

Doug and Eevee, I bought a 6” electric saw a few weeks ago, (Makita brand), and have cleaned up dead tree limbs all by myself. It uses same battery pack as our drill. I bought it due to your huge tree cleanup a while back on your homestead and appreciated how well your Dewalt electric saw performed! Thank you for showing how different tools work as they certainly make a difference! Have a great day there dear family!

Eevee has nice handwriting, and cute hairdo you're sporting these days. 🎶A long ways to the range and a short time to get there. We're going to do what they say can't be done.🎶 >>;=) Math, planning and lots of answered prayers hehe. Cool to see the wiring pretty well getting wrapped up. I love that box with those channels too, so much cleaner and easier to maintain/modify.

Wait…wait…wait…. Who cares what name Doug calls his wife. That’s not what this channel is about. I have learned that “I can” from this channel which gives me more encouragement than I thought possible. They share redo tips and tricks and useful stuff. Anything beyond that is nobody’s business. These r good, kind, hard working individuals and what goes on after the camera goes off is irrelevant. Guess I don’t understand why anyone would make such a big deal out of nothing. It takes a lot of time to make a video and the edit is longer. I’m grateful they put the time necessary into it.

I have always been interested in wiring yet I felt a bit intimidated but somehow I was able to install water heaters. Go figure. (That was over 25yrs ago.) Doug's thorough explanations have given me the confidence to tackle a few small projects. I definitely will not be rewiring a house but switching to GFCI outlets is in my future. Eevee and Doug are an amazing team! Working together makes it much more efficient, easier and faster. Otherwise Doug would be making many more trips under the mobile home, draining his energy and impacting progress. I am looking forward to seeing the next projects. The bus contains the super secret supplies. The mobile home has already gone through an amazing transformation and it continues to improve every week. It reminds me of a caterpillar transforming into a beautiful butterfly.

Wiring impressive, very nice work. What is even more impressive is the amount of planning for this project, must have taken a good amount of time. By project I mean the entire house. True you ran into a couple of snags along the way but you sailed through because of your expert planning. So now instead of Doug and evees restoration company we now have “ d&e customized house planning” down to the last screw or nail. Smart and talented. Great ideas, keeping it simple , without higher costs. Bravo.

I am so enjoying watching the mobile home tear-out and every step of the rebuild that you are sharing with us. I honestly have never seen a youtube channel that takes the time for explaining (the reasoning for) the process of your work on whichever project you are working on. I love the calm, simplistic demeanor the both of you exhibit in your videos. Doug and Eevee - I don't always get to comment on (or click that LIKE button for) your videos l watch at home or listen to while driving, but please know how much 'life' you have brought to me over these last years. Thank you for staying 'you' always for me. Missed hearing Maverick say his 'bye' at the end there!! Take care. Patricia (73)

I think where you are putting the hot water heater is a good idea. It will be in its own closet. Every water heater that I have had that failed started to leak. Have you ever thought about installing a drain in the floor of the water heater closet? So, when it does fail and leak it will be less likely to cause damage to the rest of the mobile home.
@diyfferent

Yes, we always install our water heaters in a drain pan that drains to the outdoors to protect from leaks. I think we have everything sorted :)

I have been rebuilding our mobile home for the last 8 years. Living in one while doing floors is a Royal pain. I know you have done others. I have noticed the resale on a mobile as a difficult situation because banks refuse to finance. No one has 50k or better laying around to buy a used, refurbished mobile. My neighbor is having great difficulty selling hers. We do live in a rural park. The park was renting mobiles, but have been selling them as a rent here buy here situation because they cannot sell them outright.

This is getting so exciting! It’s going to be so nice. Can’t wait to see the finished product. I think what you guys are doing is above & beyond…& so fulfilling. I love the way it rains where you are. My folks moved to Florida after they retired…I knew, kinda clichè…& I would visit? They had full on thunderstorms every afternoon, like clockwork, & I loved them! I would find a spot in their home & snuggle down with a book & some tea & just listen & “experience” whatever mother nature decided to entertain me with that day. It was so very relaxing. 😊❤️

Something that I wasn’t aware of until a saw a “I was today years old” video of how you can take the dryer door off and rotate it where you can open the dryer door from the right side instead of the left. I immediately looked at mine afterwards, and yes it can be switched. So swapping the dryer and washing from the norm definitely won’t be a problem. With a standard “old type” dryer anyway.

I was a volunteer fire fighter. After seeing the extremely thick smoke off of structure with foam insulation, i would never use it in a house except as the roof insulation above original sheeting. I worry about fire and smoke. Even with detectors foam puts heavy black toxic smoke very quickly... Fire is bad enough, foam fire is much worse..

I still have a little bit of the old school knob and tube wiring in this place. The only place where it still remains is lighting curcuits to the best of my knowledge. All of it has been replaced to outlets. This place is from 1900, I didn't want to deal with plaster abd lather ceilings, so I left the knob and tube in lighting circuits. It should not matter as I am running all LED lighting now anyway.
