Welcome to another adventure on MD Gustavsson KZbin Channel! Today, I’m taking you on an incredible journey to one of Norway’s most iconic natural wonders-Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock. This awe-inspiring cliff, with its breathtaking views over the Lysefjord, is a must-visit for any nature enthusiast or adventure seeker. There's so much more to say about Preikestolen than what I could capture on camera.
The adventure begins long before you reach the top. The hike to Preikestolen is a 4-kilometer (2.4-mile) trek, with an elevation gain of about 350 meters (1,150 feet). The trail is well-marked and accessible, but it’s no walk in the park! Expect a moderate challenge, with a mix of steep climbs, rocky terrain, and wooden bridges that cross over streams and marshy areas. If you love to take your time to soak in the scenery, allow yourself around 4-5 hours for the round trip.
When you finally reach the top, Preikestolen reveals itself in all its glory-a flat, square-shaped cliff that juts out 604 meters (1,982 feet) above the Lysefjord. Standing on the edge, with nothing but air between you and the fjord below, is a surreal experience. The sense of space, the vertigo-inducing height, and the sheer beauty of the fjord stretching out beneath you-it’s a moment that truly takes your breath away.
Preikestolen is more than just a hike-it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left the trail. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or someone just looking to explore Norway’s natural beauty, this is one adventure you won’t want to miss.
I’ll see you in the next adventure!
