Another great show but please turn the sound up. Been struggling to hear almost every podcast with volume turned up all the way. Why not crank it up.. we have volume control on our devices to quiet the noise down to silence but ultimately we can only turn it up so much. P.S.- Darkside bummed out is priceless. If this was mid season, I get it, but it’s silly season and this is the type of pod I think we are all needing during these times.

I had Pro Circuit port my 2001 CR250 and do my head work. It was spec'd for race gass. I put on a PC pipe, PC silencer, and V Force reeds at the same time. I put the bike together and did a gentle break in ride. The bike was crazy quite and felt weak, but I hadn't really gotten on it. I took it to Glamis and the bike was just a dog and couldn't get out of its own way. I checked the compression andbit was crazy low. I took the cylinder and head back to PC, and they found out the forgot to deck the base of the cylinder. The then finished the machining, gave me a free pipe, and a bunch of free shirts. I put the bike back together and it was a monster. I couldn't believe how fast it was and how wide the power band was. After a few years, the cylinder needes to be plated. I sent it to Eric Gorr. He did a 265 big bore and opened up the porting even more. The bike is now a bottom end tractor and doesn't pull at all like the PC setup. Now I need to get a new cylinder and head so I can send them to PC. The only issue is they dont sell new power valves any more.

Mitch Payton and PC did the motor on my mini when I was still racing. It was an 02 KTM 65. When we got that thing back, and went racing the next race season, it was a fucking ROCKET. I swear to this day, that bike had more power than my CR 85 when I moved up classes. Made me a huge PC fan.

Recovery (?) though, great job on raising money to his fund Steve. Mentor of mine had a story of him being at hotel and seeing him with his mechanic back in the day walking bike into the room to work on the bike and hearing them starting it up etc... Absolutely one of the best episodes ever. You judge a show by how many times you laugh out loud in your car and this show was record breaking. Sorry Darkside but you have to recognize gold entertainment when you hear it. RV has gone through some shit in his lifetime and I appreciate what he's given up for it! Around 1:07:00 the no-fun American racing begun with Ricky Carmichael. He started the no-nonsense, train, train, and train approach. Even Pastrana complained about that. He was on same team (Suzuki) and wasn’t allowed to train and ride with RC. That was beginning of it no longer being fun.
