It sure would be a lot easier if more of yall would do trade ins. If you want to use the new truck analogy that’s cool. But the difference is that I can drive to the dealership and trade in my truck and drive home a new one that day. If I want to trade in my old thermal for a new one I can’t I have to go out and sell mine first which can be a pain in the ass that I might not want to deal with. Retailers already have the platforms to resell these things anyway so if I had to take a bit less money for mine to not hassle with it I would gladly do that.

Most thermals are discontinued after a year or so and the mark up on them is ridiculous when you see them drop $1500-3000 on them after a year or so like iray. Just stay behind one year on new thermals and you will save a ton $$. I figured this out years ago just be patient.

The axions went south in my opinion, have the xg35 and love it ,pulsar changed to smaller ocular lens and smaller displays to go compact 👎

That’s literally not even the point. I know there is a ton of mark up and you can save tons. You can do the same with trucks. I don’t care about that. The point is Jason’s truck analogy doesn’t make any sense unless he’s going to take trade ins. People don’t mind going and buying the new truck because the ease of business. I’m not a social media user personally other than KZbin mostly. So trying to sell my old scope is not a very easy task and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I know I’ll take a bath if I trade it but ease of business is sometimes worth it. And considering the mark up they do have on scopes. It should be pretty little risk to them and another revenue source. I mean hell it works for car dealerships. But what the hell do I know. I’m sure if it was that easy all these guys would be doing it already.

I agree, with both of y’all. If I could buy a $2-3k, 2-3 year old manufacturer/dealer certified under warranty used thermal, every couple years, instead of hanging onto my top of the line original Pulsar Trail XP50 (from 8 years ago), I absolutely would. Not only that, I’d have dedicated thermals, for multiple rifles.

Personally I feel these manufacturers have failed their past customers. Years ago they sold us on their Helion, Trail, and Trail 2 line up, all using the same battery. Great units for sure, and a great concept. I bought into this and over the years have purchased 3 of these units and a dozen batteries. I realize technology changes, but they changed the platform so much that none of the older stuff is compatible with the new, so if you are in the market for an upgrade it’s like starting over every couple years. A total disregard for past customers, we’re all just left holding a bag of batteries and a bunch of expensive discontinued products.

What about upgrading the Talion series? Not everyone likes those heavy ass Thermions! I'd like to see a 45 or 50 XG Talion
