PULSAR X2 Mini in 2023 Gaming Mouse Review | Before You Buy

This is my review of the X2 Mini (V1) from Pulsar. Most people would probably choose the V2 over this but hopefully, this content helps anyone caught between the two!

I have multiple x2v1 and and x2v2 and x2H. I think everything is better on the v2 with the exception of 2 things. 1. The optical clicks. They just aren’t good. They are very crunchy and inconsistent. If you go a few minutes without clicking them they will have a weird crunch on the first click. It’s very weird but happens every time on both of my copies. If you press them slowly you can feel that they push past this little point of resistance and then click. It’s like pre travel but with a wall, almost giving a double click feeling. I’m not even sure if it’s the opticals fault, it might be a design flaw of their new shell as it’s the only mouse I’ve ever felt like that. It’s just not an enjoyable click and it’s the reason I don’t use them anymore. 2. The coating. The coating feels great but man… it gets absolutely disgusting after just a few minutes of playing. I don’t have sweaty hands and I always wash my hands before gaming but this mouse is on another level. It’s much better on the white copies tho. If someone has a good copy of the v1 with good clicks then I really don’t think it’s worth the upgrade.

Loved the video. Question! My hand size is 19x10. And I cannot decide between the mini or the medium. I also use claw grip if that helps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@wasabi Really enjoyed your vid on the X2. I'm using the X2V2 right now for almost a month. Big big improvement over original. I think the scroll wheel is going to highly depend on how much a user makes it one of the main areas of the mouse. Meaning being highly used for clicking and scrolling. I am one of those heavy users. I use the click constantly. Scroll is perfect still. But the click....it's started to show use. I've had to press in a lot harder to activate switch over the month I've used it. I play BF4 and I bind my revive paddles to scroll switch. If you were wondering. Everything else like you said is superior to the original x2. No reason to get old version. Unless you want mechanical switches. Subbed up Wasabi. Full view. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and low ambient lighting. Made it really nice to watch.

Scroll wheel getting worn down for the right reasons hahaha!! I can only imagine the number of times you had to resuscitate people in BF4 🤣 thank you for sharing this. The X2V2 mini is noticeably better in every way, you should most definitely check it out. It’s my preferred mouse and I have rather large hands. I own many mice and I constantly go back to it. Only close contender would be the LAMZU antlantis mini. I’m still waiting on my Maya to come.

Also the 4k is noticeably great on the X2V2. Only if you have a high refresh rate monitor that you can hold 200fps or above in game.

Hey there!! Thank you for sharing your experience with the X2V2 Mini! Its a wonderful little mouse. I have yet to get the 4K dongle (love how it looks). So many things I want to try from Pulsar and many releases from all brands this year! I am excited to try out the MAYA as well. That would be Lamzu's option of a Superlight shape 😊

@@tayxiloon Helloo, I do not have the V2 version of the X2 Mini but the shape is the same as the V1 which I have. Between the X2 Mini and the Atlantis mini, you may find the build quality of the X2 Mini to be better. For claw grip I prefer the Atlantis Mini, For fingertip grip, I enjoy the X2 Mini :) Yes I have tried the Thorn but it would be tough to compare against the X2 mini and the Atlantis mini due to it being an Ergonomic mouse. It's a wonderful mouse and a lottta love it. You can have a look at my review on the Atlantis Mini and the Thorn if it helps! Cheers my friend~

I currently have an arc touch mouse that I 've been using for years. I like/used to its shape. I am thinking of getting a new gaming mouse for day to day use mostly because I don't like the shape in regular mice I see and because gaming mice have side buttons. I also have a Logitech 510 that feels too plasticky and big in my hands. Looking at reviews, I 've set apart Lamzu Atlantis Mini, Vaxee NP01s wireless and the Pulsar minis. Of all the designs, I like the Pulsar's the best, because the more minimalist the look the better I like it. What I value in a mouse is quality, longevity, premium feel and shape. So compared to the other options, I am apprehensive about Pulsar because it seems they have the worst feel and quality control issues. What would people recommend?

Hey there! amongst the 3 that you have mentioned, the Pulsar Mini's would appeal to me for its design.. The X2V2 Mini's have had a lot fewer issues compared to other launches from their lineup. But the possibility of getting a faulty one bugs me too. Pulsar and Lamzu mice lean towards the lightweight appeal, and as with lighter mice, you may not get so much of that "premium" feel due to the lack of weight and "thinner" materials. Hmm with a "premium" feel and quality as a priority.. I have yet to experience a Vaxee before, I apologize that I cannot give a firm recommendation due to this. Vaxee's do not appeal to me that much in the design department BUT, for its reputation in performance and build quality, I have to try it one day. I have a strong feeling that I can overlook its design because it shines in those two other aspects :)

@@wasabitech Thank you for the time you took to answer. Yes, I feel the same way about Vaxee. It's not my first preference design wise- mainly because the buttons are circular and because' they 've separated the scroll wheel from the buttons in a weird ways. But "I ve browsed through a lot of reviews and one of the common threads is that the shape is really good (a nice compromise between symmetrical and ergo), the feel is good, the specs are more than adequate and in the few instances there is a problem, their customer service is very responsive. Another potential issue with them is that they offer no pc software and all the settings are changed on the mouse, but this means that you cannot remap certain buttons; I am optimistic I can find a program that can do this and either way, that's only an issue with the middle button for me. I also did some research on the x2v2 and I am afraid that when I look at their amazon reviews their 5 star rating % is the same as the their previous version and lower than most of their competitors.65%. Unfortunately, Vaxee doesn't seem to be sold on amazon, while the Atlantic mini has only one review. So, right now the Vaxee has the lead. I will probably wait till christmas, so we ll see. I 've also added the Endgame OP1we into consideration. Perhaps a video comparing the NP01s and the OP1we or small mice in general is in order? :D Either way, thanks for your time. Yess this was a thought that did come across my mind earlier this week while taking notes! I noticed that the feeling of holding onto my old Viper Ultimate felt incredible... and the reason why was because the built in grips of the mouse were so worn out to the exact shape and fit of my thumb, pinky and ring finger 😂 Designing a mouse with sides to fit replaceable grip tapes that mold and harden to the exact grip of your hand would be pretty awesome!

Brother can u tell me which is better for claw or aggressive claw the gpx 2 or the lamzu atlantis mini i have hands of length 18cm and width 8cm

I would recommend the Atlantis for aggressive claw as the front end of the Superlight 2 is a lot higher and I found it uncomfortable with my hand in that position for long hours. Also the angles sides of the Atlantis gives you a lot of support for that grip style :) Superlight 2 I’d recommend if you orientate between grip styles. Cheers!

I don’t have either monitor but personally I would be curious to experience Zowie’s Monitors. Whichever you pick, i’m sure either is more than enough for your Competitive games!
