Pulse Ox Pleth

This was made pre-COVID. Thees days almost everyone has a pulse oximeter at home. Not a HCW, yet this was super useful to interpret at a basic level a pulse oximeter pleth waveform. More importantly, when I can and cannot use it while giving care to my elderly relatives. Thank you very much.

Thank you. That was a very good explanation. As a Nurse i don't recall ever learning about this, however, as a Nurst I knew that it correllated with the pulse

I had Afib for the first time ever this summer. My Pulse Ox was what confirmed it for me. Until I Saw the pleth I thought I was just having a bunch of ectopic beats. But those flat lines and irregular waveform made it clear. Went in and had a cardioversion and now I'm good!
