I really needed this video! And I just wanted to add nicotine use and lack of exercise as a reason for a resting heart rate around 100 ( 4:54 )

Can the wave form be trusted on pulse oximeters to detect a heart problem. The wave form doesn't seem regular all the time and it's really scaring me. Yes I have asthma.

I think these things are relative, just like when you take your blood pressure. At the end of the day, depending on how you feel, you may already be dead. So don't worry so much about it.

I asked my Chiropractor what would make me need to sleep so much….. She suggested I wasn’t getting enough oxygen. I bought a pulse oximeter, my ranges in the high 60’s most of the time. I’ve been sleeping all night long and pretty much 3-4 hours after a light breakfast! After a light lunch I am exhausted and I can’t stay awake again! While I am also hypothyroid for over 50 years now, I am sleeping my days away, I can’t get anyone in the medical field to really listen. At 74 I’m tired of being exhausted all the time, I’m even unable to do my house work I’m so tired! HELP!!! I’m type 1 diabete too but this is ridiculous! I also have a deviated septum and allergies so I’m fighting for air all the time!

I think you should see a doctor because anything below 95 is not good. With COPD sometimes 92 or 90 is ok but you are saying high 60's. Are you sure you're using it correctly? Nail varnish can distort readings, if your hands are too cold also, you should wait at least 1 minute before checking the reading. Try it on someone else if the reading is low like that for them too maybe it's defective. When my oxygen went low I slept a lot and when mine dropped to high 70's I was in the hospital and they put me on oxygen until it stabilized.

You need to get to the ER if your oxygen is at 60. That is considered dieing &your organs can be shutting down. I know bcuz I just got out of the hospital being admitted for 5 days & my oxygen went down to 66 I was gray & could breath. Dr's said had they not got oxygen on me within a couple more minutes I would have died. So now I'm home on oxygen 24/7 until my lungs & oxygen come up on there own which isn't happening yet. It been 3 weeks now. I had no oxygen in my blood & caught Pertussis (whooping cough) that a bad bacterial infection in my lungs.

If you have had your pulse oxymeter for a long time and it shows abnormal levels of O², it may also be wise to change batteries. Lately, I've had readings of between 96 and 98% blood oxygen levels, but this may be because of fluctuating oxygen levels due to my lung disease flare-ups

Hello doctor I just got released from the hospital because I had the flu and pneumonia they treated me but I’m home still recovering but my oxygen level reads still anywhere from 85-90 is that normal because I’m still healing ?
@DrStefanCristianStanel Жыл бұрын
could be, but you may need a follow-up consultation after the discharge to see if you are recovering well

I have COPD and i was in Hospital for 3 months with Sepsis 4 years ago. I was told that a reading of 88 was ok for me. But quite often I get readings of 71 or 75 around this number. I can then move the oximeter to my other hand finger and get a reading of 92. What is the reason for that ?

Do u have any recommendations for oxygen readers thats not expensive and reliable? I have a mi fitness band 7 that reads oxygen and i dont think its very reliable since it read a low of 82%-86% for 10 mins today im pretty sure i would be dead rn if it did get that low

Is measuring the side of your finger an accurate reading? Side of the finger readings seem to measure much higher.

Bpm 115 is toatlly normal depending what they was doing before checking it if they...was moving about or not if so heart rate is fine....heart rate in adults should be 50-100 bpm....in athletes it should be 40-60 bpm the only reason the heart rate is lower in athletes is because their heart don't have to pump as much for the blood to flow around....the oxygen is totally normal as well 97% is very good especially at that age and being asthmatic....oxygen should be at 95%-100% in healthy adults.😊

During the day I am usually 95-99 however at night I have episodes of spo2 dropping maybe twice a night under 85 (one night my health watch told me it dropped to 76. Is this normal?? Other times it drops to maybe 85 It does not last very long. Is this enough to talk to dr about?? thanks
