They got his movements all wrong. Starro doesn’t walk like a person. It uses all its limbs in a cartwheel like movement. I’m surprised they didn’t know about that.

I don’t get how a Speer can penetrate Starros eye but a bullet can’t, like a bullet can penetrate metal armour and a Speer unless at high speed.

I person that I know was annoyed by the fact that it was defeat so easily and with a plot hole, because any high caliber weapon would have destroyed his eye. His suggestion was that everyone try everything and fail, and when they are all going to die, Superman appear for 1 second kill starro and fly away immediately after that. (As cameo apparition, so you don't even clearly see him)
