I purchased these plugs for my Ford Edge 2008. They haven’t arrived yet but I will be going on a trip 5 hours away as soon as I get them. Either I come back home impressed or on a tow truck. Wish me luck.

His perspective on the transition to electric drive is confused, but that isn’t the point of this interview. This is a potentially valuable innovation that is a good price/performance solution for the large number of legacy ICE vehicles. The low cost of electricity production is what is killing coal-fired plants and it will be killing natural gas soon. It is already marginal. This is a trend that is basic economics - technology is driving the cost of generating electricity down.

I just bought a set of NGK Ruthenium HX plugs (ruthenium is supposedly better than iridium) and they were only $8.04 each These Pulstar plugs are $25 each do the math 3 times the cost, But I'd buy them in a heart beat IF they cleaned the carbon off the back side of my direct injection engines intake valves.

You can eke out a little more performance with a set of these plugs, but don't expect miracles. Normal spark plugs are already pretty good, and for best results you'd need to tune the engine's computer to take full advantage of the slightly more efficient burn. Some engines, such as the 2012 Mazda 6, the computer compensates and you don't see any noticeable performance improvement at all. pulstar.com/how-it-works/tests/dyno-testing/
@stefanweilhartner44153 жыл бұрын
if the computer compensates that, then you at least could save a bit of gas money

The car was a huge improvement over the buggy but the EV has little advantage over ICE.EV's are will never be as popular as many now believe. ICE tech like this will drive their cost down and they will be around for atleast another 50 years.

Bummer all that smart person time spent on a dieing technology when it could have been spent on a future technology that would have more of a positive effect. Small gains therefore not much of a beneficial impact and not impressive. Sure every little bit helps but very soon all of my gas operated tools will be replaced by battery operated, as well as my Ford F150 with a Try motor Cybertruck. No more spark plugs needed for my vehicles. Coal power plants are more expensive to operate and maintain than green renewable power plants thats why coal is shutting down and also the huge negative environmental and economical impact of coal is reason enough to shut coal down. Batteries are being recycled, they aren't an environmental problem and they often have a second life after a car before the battery is off to recycle. What engine has a second life after its time in a vehicle? Big fan of the show 👍👍👍👍

I respectfully disagree. The difference with this small company is that they have been doing research in conjunction with Sandia National Laboratories. They have one laboratory devoted to extreme high power output. I have been out to Albuquerque and it’s a pretty amazing area. Spark plugs now are pretty much at their peak of development, so I’m not surprised that the large OEM spark plug companies have not explored this upgrade.

The improvement seem to be very minor, but on the other hand if just getting a fractional percentage improvement makes the difference between getting first place vs second place, the cost is well worth it.
