I was 16, living in a small town in England when it came out. At the time i went to go into a phone box (still red in those days) to make a call and i noticed someone had left 2 45rpm singles on the side on top of the phone book shelf. I looked to see what records they were inside the singles record bag, and one of them was this track, but the 45 version. The person it belonged to looked like they were long gone. So i decided to take them home and play them. At that age i was more into chart rock Heart, Europe, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Tpau. I hadn't heard this track before. When i put it on my record player, i instantly didn't really like it. Found it hard to relate to and i didn't appreciate it for what it was. 30 years later, on listening to the same track again, glad to say i can appreciate this track as something special. It does sound fresh and vibrant to this day.

It's too bad this group didn't go on to become big. "Pump Up the Volume" was my signature song, and a great hit when I was a high school senior. There's no telling what they could have done back then following that!!

Yes & to really do this masterpiece justice it should be felt & heard on a crowded dance floor with a top notch soundsystem...then you just don't hear the magic but you feel it too!Peace & keep the music alive!

I liked the "Mars needs Women "sample on this mix, which was from a 60's Sci-Fi film with the same name.

There was a 50's-type diner, in my town. My friend and I always went there and played this, Red Red Wine, and Purple People Easter, every day, on the jukebox.
