Pump-semi combos are the best. Fast firing conventional shells, and you can pump the weird shells that dont cycle.
@axelyoung15514 жыл бұрын
For those who wonder ¨if semi is faster, whats the point¨. The difference is the ammunition. A lot of low powered or special shotgun loads like tear gas projectiles, less than lethal rubber rounds and dragons breath won't cycle in a semi auto shotgun. So that's why it has both. TLDR: Pump action, low powered loads. Semi Auto, full power rounds.
@PolenarTactical4 жыл бұрын
Correct, the Benelli M3 was designed for police and military use where special rounds are used. Because a lot of speciality ammo isn't made to the same pressures and specifications as normal ammo, semi-auto only shotgun wouldn't cycle them properly. So the M3 has both systems in one :)
@spearfisherman3082 жыл бұрын
If you are trying to hit targets a pump is just as good as a semi.

I love my Benelli M3's. I own two. One was brand new and the other was a police trade in and I got it dirt cheap. It sat mostly in a rack and a small local sheriff's office. It has the pistol grip stock and my other had a standard stock which I actually prefer. I bought the first after watching the movie HEAT. Great video as always

HEAT was amazing! I wan't a FNC because of it and i have an AR that resembles Colt commando that i don't want to modernise for the same reason :D I like the iconic look of the pistol grip stock but i din't buy it because this one is more ergonomic and works better for loading and shotgun manipulations

Sorry I know this is old but I wanted to respond. The Benelli M3 is often call the "SPAS-12 that actually works". SPAS-12s are pretty infamous for being finnicky and not always reliable, whereas you can (and many do) trust the Benelli's with your life.
@justsomeguy39314 жыл бұрын
Very cool, you controlled all the variables in both instances and changed only one - the selected fire mode. It would have been better to run 3 each way, to have more data to get an average. Make sure any conclusion isn't based on the difference between individual runs in each mode. I agree 100% tho, auto-loader for life. It's always better than a manual action, if it's very reliable, IMHO.
@fightingfalcon19862 жыл бұрын
Similar operation like the older Luigi Franchi SPAS-12, that's also a hybrid shotgun with pump and semi-automatic action.
@DonPatrono5 жыл бұрын
ziga, just to say...an old promo pic of the early Benelli semiautos was a high-speed picture of one of the owners (I think it was Luigi Benelli) shooting one of their guns...and the focus was on the fact that the rifle was ejecting the fifth spent case, while the first one still hadn't touched the ground Benelli always took pride in the fact that "Our rifles shoot as fast as you pull the trigger", so...it was quite obvious it would have been faster and smoother
@PolenarTactical5 жыл бұрын
Maybe the M1, M2 or M4 but i can actually "outshoot" the M3 - i can press the trigger so fast that it drops the hammer before the bolt goes fully into battery which leaves you with an uncocked hammer and unfired round in the chamber

I think Super 90 refers to the inertia driven rotating bolt, the M4 also uses it. M4 is semi-auto only, the M3 is select - pump or semi, and M1 and M2 are semi-auto only. As far as i know all use a similar system and all are marked as "Super 90"

My Benelli M3 runs any ammo weak or hot in semi and will run it in pump if you feel like it that day. No stupid expensive and bulky magazines to keep track of and the action and build quality is 2-3x better than the Vepr.
