Thanks for sharing. How do you deal with the cold flanges on your breast after doing the fridge hack? Is that just something you get over or is there something you do about it. I’ve found the cold apart from being uncomfortable can make it more difficult to get a letdown during the next pumping session

Hmm I actually never ran into this problem! I bet you could leave them out for a few mins before putting them on your breasts! Hope this helps!

I do the fridge hack too. I try to sanitize almost everyday though, usually in the mornings.

Hi, I have so many questions. So when Im done pumping, I would pour the breastmilk into a storage bag and that goes into the fridge, and the bottles would go with the other pumping parts in the same bag/ container right? After the next session, do I pour the “new” breastmilk back into the previous storage bag? Should I be concerned about the temperature difference if I do that?

Skip the storage bags for the refrigeration process because you’ll be blowing through them quickly. Get a large pitcher and after your sessions, pour the milk into the pitcher that is in the fridge. It doesn’t matter that you add room temp or fresh milk to the pitcher that has cold refrigerated milk in it. There are zero studies that show that by doing that, it “spoils” the milk. So all good! The milk can stay in pitcher in fridge for up to 4 days and then will need transferred into storage bags and then put in freezer !

Great question! If I’m understanding it correctly, you want to know if the breast milk that you’re going to put into the fridge into the pitcher, can it stay at room temp for 4 hours? The answer is yes!

Is thrush possible if you're more prone to yeast infections?

Yes thrush is possible, but I’ll be the first to tell you that thrush is very uncommon. Does it happen? Yes. Explore other issues first (such as mastitis) Thrush will present itself with stabbing pains in your nipple (also happens with mastitis), white spots in baby’s mouth (don’t mistake milk residue on tongue for this). There could also be zero symptoms.

Can you use zip lock bag as well? And did you pump and then put milk in a milk storage bag right ?

@@BLOVESK I’m sure you could use a ziplock bag! And yes ! Pumped and then transferred milk to milk bags. In between that I also store breast milk in fridge ( can be in fridge for 4 days before transferring to freezer)

Why do you put them in the wet/dry bag

Just to keep them from exposure to everything else in the fridge, although not necessary!

A ziplock bag, a dry/wet bag (most preferred) , a Tupperware container- something for the flanges to be placed in to prevent them from getting contaminated by anything.

Do you just wipe down the dry/wet bag at the end of each day?

@@vanessarivera1453 yep! If you keep it in the fridge all of the time, just wipe it out. If you take it out and it’s staying out and getting to room temperature- wash it to avoid bacteria growth!
