I'm just glad worms dont seem to get "tired" of eating things because between all of the winter squashes and pumpkins I've been turning into breads, pies, and cakes they've been having a good ol time😂

Agreed. Good thing the wormies ain't picky eaters 👍🏻

I’ve been binge watching all of your videos! I recently start growing red wigglers (started only 200 worms) for the casting. The thing is I check on my worms way too often and disturb their bedding. I’m clearly having a hard time restraining myself. Haha I watch your videos to scratch that urge to disturb my worm bin 5 times a day, and your videos reduce it to just one or two disturbance a day. Lol! Just wanted to say thank you for the nice videos!!

You are certainly not alone. Most people starting out with raising worms can't resist checking in on them over & over & over again :)

I must be feeding my worms far to well there are thousands and they seem to be getting quite fat and breeding rapidly.

Iam thinking pumpkin stems and Gord worm chow
@A-V24 күн бұрын
With the three very, very dry little gords from last Halloween, I was thinking of busting them up into small chunks and including them in my next batch of worm chow (presumably the material will get ground up nicely in my little blender). The pumpkin stems, on the other hand, I was thinking about just taking outside and burning them the next time I get the fire pit out 👍🏻

Hi AV Do you have a tool or method to get those leaves nicely shredded as seen in the video?
@A-V26 күн бұрын
I have one of those leaf blowers that doubles as a vacuum/bagger. So the initial collection of the leaves results in the stuff getting pretty nicely chopped up. Then after they've been sitting around for months in the bag & have dried out nicely, I simply use my hands to crush the stuff I am pulling out of the bag & putting into the box that I bring it inside in. On top of that, before loading the crushed stuff into the box, I place it into my screen - and collect the very, very small fragments and keep those off on the side to be used in the creation of my prepared bedding :)

Ah very good. Yes, I notice after several months of sitting the leaves just break up quite easily. Except for the leave stems. I will have to figure some sifting device to separate them. Although I do find that the leave stems do break quicker than I would have thought, I still would like to strive for that beautiful leaf bedding that you create, haha Thank you for the reply and explanation. As always, I enjoy the videos
