If I may, I'd like to offer a tip on using pumpkins or other cut squashes or fresh gourds in arrangements; apply a little petroleum jelly to the cut surfaces. This will seal the open surfaces, and keep them fresh longer. Love your work, you are such an inspiration!

You can also spray the inside with Pam It will seal the inside perfectly

I love this arrangement and would love to do it as the centerpieces for my wedding. Can anyone tell me how far in advance I could make these with fresh flowers for my wedding? Without the flowers wiltering or the pumpkin rotting? 😁

As a florist I'd reccomend no longer than a week before with refrigeration. So make it a week before and stick it in a fridge to slow the decay of the flowers. However to be VERY sure (since it is for your wedding) I'd say make it maybe a few days before if not the night before. I promise it won't take very long at all to make. Just be sure to refrigerate the arrangement so the roses dont open too quickly and the pumpkin doesn't rot too quickly

I can answer about your pumpkin rotting, spray cooking oil inside and round the edge of the pumpkin or using a spay bottle pour lemon juice in and spay inside .Both work well.

I am a new subscriber and your work is beautiful, I do have a question I see other viewers asking you questions with no reply why is this? It would be a better relationship with viewers if you took a moment to answer. I see others in the audience answering questions that should come from you. I have seen twice the question on the "stick" you use and have tried to google the name still haven't seen an answer on that.

Fresh flowers can be pretty expensive here in the States.

Sallie, you can always use varieties that are less expensive and make the design work.
