Your “empowered” ability is every third ability used within 10 seconds. You can easily tell when you are about to use an “Empowered” ability because the wires and circuits on your arms and back will grow cherry hot. Your “jet” thrusters will also have flames coming out of them. You can tell that the 10 seconds is about to be up when the flames from your jets start sputtering.

You should definitely make more than one video per character. Your mastery of the characters will increase which is fun to see, plus each character can very easily be played in multiple roles unlike Smite, so you can explore the same character in different roles. I'd definitely watch a countess mid game and a countess jungle game, for example.

when u gank on crunch, u can prep ur empowred jab by using ur Q before u engage. then u do ur dash into empowered E and ur q should be back up

Pretty sure you can tell when you have passive by looking at your body, you have these jets/rockets/boosters that are on your back and the more you stack the passive the bigger the flame/boost effect is. I’m assuming once they’re fully ignited that you have passive. At least that’s what it looks like as a viewer. Edit: I’m almost positive it’s the rocket booster effect on your back. It even backfires/flickers when the passive is about to wear off. And it makes sense since your enhanced abilities have a flame effect on them.

I’m a smite player and found you through predecessor. My friends and I have been having a lot more fun in predecessor after 9 years of smite. Since the game doesn’t let you jungle practice heroes that you don’t own, watching your videos is a great way to learn how they play. Still trying to work my way up to turning off auto-buy but learning all the items for another moba is daunting.

With Crunch, I passively tell when big charge is up because his circuits gradually catch on fire. When his thrusters start flaring continuously, that’s the big boy crunch. Also the Forward Crunch dash shoves people when boosted, which is trippy as hell when you just want the stun, it’s bad.

@Mast if you pay attention to the fire coming out of crunch, it will indicate when the upgraded ability it ready to proc. Also cruches q does true damage when its enhanced.

I was a Paragon (R.I.P 2016) player. Started playing Smite in 2019, started watching you, and you happened to pick up a game I've been playing off and on since closed beta launched (before that if you count playtests). Pred used to have major matchmaking issues, so I stopped playing awhile back because I got tired of it, and you made me interested in it again. I am learning that I was previously very good because the matchmaking was terrible and I have been losing way more games since Omeda Studios reworked the matchmaking and I now have to play against people as good as I am. It's been a learning curve because I can't get away with so much of the stuff I used to do, and undoing bad habits that only work when pubstomping is hard.

Don't know if you noticed this in the video (haven't watched it all yet) but you can see which stage your on for your ult passive by looking at the thrusters on Crunch's back. Stage 1 the flames start small, and stage 2 the flames get big signaling your next ability you use is empowered!

One way to tell with Crunch passive is the thrusters on his back. Its harder to see when your fighting and auto canceling but, at full passive he'll like rocket boosters. And throughout different stages it'll get all orange and warmed up. Like an engine

Since it isn't explained here, auto canceling is when you cancel the auto attack (left click) after the damage is done but before the animation finishes with another ability. This lets you auto > ability > auto instead of auto + animation > ability >auto, it increases your damage done by the amount of time you shave off of the animation.

I love about Mast the balance that he keeps his private life private. He doesn’t tell us anything concrete but it’s enough to garner empathy without feeling manipulative. It also makes him come across as a real person so much more than other CCs. “I like money.” “I had a crappy weekend and I am NOT gonna talk about it.” Mast is just so real and also hilarious. I hope he continues to enjoy making content for a while. Side note: The way I do not at all miss smite content is wild.

Several crunch things to note. Crunch doesn't get empowered attacks until he unlocks his ult.When his back glows or wires it's his next ability will be empowered. His dash empowered drags enemy's with you unlike his regular dash, his Q/left hook empowered does true damage with 100% cleave. He's in a good spot right.

Ricktor actually has a postive match up into crunch because his passive makes short trades favorable for him and his q can stop crunch from using his kit. Steel is an offmeta jungler just because his ganks are good and steel is a just a good hero to have on a team. Also something I don't think is said anywhere in his kit is that his abilities are sped up by increasing his attack speed. This isn't that useful for crunch since there isn't a good attack speed item for him, but it does mean frost guard is strong verses him. And if you want try different items on him, void helm and elafrost work well with him if you need to be more tanky.

If you walk up to the back wall of 5 camp you can place a ward on his 5 to know if the jungle is clearing letting you know he might come for that lvl 2 gank.

You may not have noticed but your empowered dash pushes enemies with you like herc 1. That's why you kept getting confused where people went and why they were next to you all of a sudden. Looked a bit delayed with latency there too so that didn't help.

Repeating characters isn't a big deal because there's so few and you're learning the game so quickly that it's likely to be a very different experience watching. I'd try to avoid having the same lane opponent(s), but other than that go nuts. I'm enjoying how much fun you're having with the game while you seem to be pretty bored with Smite for the last season (with good reason). Also, you're probably seeing the same people because the player population isn't incredibly high when you play.

Save your dash. You are using it first. Use your combo and then ult. Then use your dash and go right into a 3 piece combo again. This prevents ppl from getting away.

Kept wondering why it took so long to use one ability. 300 seconds is 5 minutes. Excuse my language but that is batshit insane. 5 minutes to do 1 thing which I presume is that flash ability (in smite I believe its blink) is just wild. 200 seconds okay cool, but 300 is entirely too long. Especially if someone has mobility on a way shorter cooldown which would make that flash relatively useless.

Meant to be that way since everyone has flash for free, it's meant to be a valuable resource otherwise everyone would be super mobile all the time even on characters with 0 movement abilities. Ganking someone and them just flashing away for and not dying is still a valuable gank because the cooldown is high.

League's flash (What this game's flash is based on) has the same cooldown and hasn't changed since 2012. And it was anywhere between 210 and 300 from 2009 up to 2012. I think the cooldown is fine lol. EDIT: Also, league's flash is way shorter range too, forgot to mention that.

Honestly crunch was a character that was always broken in paragon. He was always over powered and never got balanced. Probably should not have been put on the roster. He will be the reason most new players leave the game because he does not let you play when he's in the game. Good to see you in the game though Mast. I should pick it up again and give you a taste of iggy & scorch offlane.
