It's common for certain games to get rebooted over the years, and there's something about Punch-Out!! that keeps Little Mac on our screens. Enter the ring in my Punch-Out review!

Punch-Out for the Wii is a simple yet difficult game. There's only 2 controls: punch or dodge. The game brings back classic fighters and updates their old sprites with cartoony models that really work well for this game. Each opponent has their own moveset you have to find out how to fight against.

You know *damn well* that they're gonna make a horrifyingly realistic punch out game where you can count the hairs on little mac's head. I don't want that. None of us wants that. @@Somocho Yeah, I unlocked it too. I made sure not to retire until I unlocked it. The game is changed so that you hit the mat instantly upon taking a hit. So each round is a 3-strikes-and-you're-out setup. If you win a fight under this stipulation, you gain a trophy icon next to that fighter.

Two things I could see in terms of a new Punch Out game are a direct sequel, wherein Little Mac is taking on a new Boxing Circuit/Championship belt, maybe going for the National Belts of countries like Japan? Similar to the manga/anime Hajime no Ippo. Or they could do a prequel, focusing on a young Doc Louis with his own roster of boxing opponents. If they do make a Switch Port, I hope they also include some new fighters, like Gabby Jay, Nick Bruiser or Masked Muscle.

I really wish they'd make another of these. It was fun (if hard) and had a ton of personality. Each of the fighters are voiced in their native languages, from the Indian Great Tiger, to the Turkish Bald Bull. Gotta admire the effort they put into the presentation alone.

Uprising is literally my favourite video game of all time but that game is near impossible to complete. The controls, idols, treasure hunts, intensity gates, hearts to the goddesses and only recently somebody managed to forge scan cards only released in Japan for the West. That would drive Jirard to literal insanity.

all of the characters are boss battles and this game is great! nes, snes, and the wii. aaa bald bull, great tiger, king hippo, piston honda or hondo, don flamenko, sweet! nes mr dream, or mike tyson, 1 hit k.o. mr. sand man, super macho man, dragon chan (from the snes) i can go on and on and on about this game. maybe we see a punch-out game on the switch with every boxer and nintendo character and originally the final boss was supposed to be princess peach but it was donkey kong.

You forgot every character is a COMPLETE stereotype! Glass Joe: French surrender and are week and wimpy. Von Kaiser: Germans are strong, but are ALWAYS getting beaten! The get the "Strongest army" and are beaten by a smaller army like the United States, United Kingdom, or France! Disco Kid: Stereotypical "Party Boi" American. King Hippo: Hippos are -fat- THICC Piston Hondo: Stereotypical HONORABRU JAPANESE MAN! Also HONDA! Bear Hugger: Canadians are all bear hugging maple syrup chugging lumberjacks with big beards. 2009 was the worst year of my life. I was unemployed up until Thanksgiving and my dad lost his job too. We lost our home to foreclosure and I even attempted suicide. The main thing that kept me going was video games and I remember getting Punch Out Wii for my birthday and I was so happy. Such a fun game and of course my favorite kind of flower is chocolate.

Another great Completionist episode! Great game and entertaining as hell. But I can’t be the only one who’s noticed how much bigger the Jirard has gotten. Not fat shaming not loving him any less but I really hope he stays healthy. Even if that means less episodes. We love you and the show and I don’t want anything bad to happen to either. The motion controls and sensors of the switch joy-cons really shine with this game more than any other; I'd say Arms, Mario Party, and Mario Tennis are all close seconds. It's not $60 good, but like if you have people over a lot, or even if you have kids, or both, it's a fun game for a wide variety of people.
