Tannus £ = tyre & innertube £ So not your double the cost calculation. Interesting, thanks for the vlogs. Take care

Fair comment: £40-£50 Tyre + £10 Inner tube = £60 vs Tannus £60

Contrary to your experience, I found the the larger version of Schwalbes (700 mm) easy to mount.
@ClockworksOfGL4 жыл бұрын
Carl Burke - They’re difficult to mount, but it can actually be done without tire levers. Just make sure the bead is properly seated all the way around. There’s even a KZbin video of a guy demonstrating the technique.
@mfabian19633 жыл бұрын
It depends on the width. I found 25-622 *very* hard to mount, 28-622 somewhat hard and wider sizes 32-622, 37-622,... easy to mount.

I have Schwalbe marathon plus on my 29er. I've gone over 7,000 miles that ive tracked with my Cat-eye Padone computer. I've had only one flat in this time. The back tire is losing its tread, but they easily have at least another 2,000 miles left on them.

Bacon Bandit my back wheel lasted 3000 miles because walls were wearing out from all the curb dropping

I prefer the original marathons green guard the rolling resistance is as low as kojaks with puncture resistance that I can tolerate.
@baconbandit67316 жыл бұрын
Ahhh, that makes sense. I have gone through soo many rims over the years from curb dropping, that I gave it up. My current bike is on its 5th rear wheel. Ugggh.

Marathon tires are a big deception for me. It can not be trusted 100&. I know from experience.

@@mathieutallard6328 I would not trust them if I was going off road. I only use them on road.
@davidturben66854 жыл бұрын
Since +60% of the weight distribution is on the rear wheel, have you thought about using the Tannus on the back tire and the Schwalbe on the front? I would wonder if your average speed might fall between the two previous averages. Just a thought.
@DrJamesT4 жыл бұрын
David Turben this is the exact setup I have now. Best of both worlds and speed does fall between the two

I've been using Velos on the electrified Swytch brompton. The torque on the motor can easily handle the added rolling resistance and it continues to take you up to max legal speed of 15.5 mph. 250w motors can take a 65 kg (me) + 14 Kg weight up to 17 mph if unrestricted.

Bike has a motor. I cruise 50 km. .... Are they going to be good at that speed ?
@DrJamesT4 жыл бұрын
The tires are stable. It should be able handle 50km/hr. I regularly use them on e-brompton, reached max speed of 30km/hr and it was fine. What kind of bike do you have?

Bottom line - if you hate punctures and only have short journeys to make you'll love solid tyres ( ive been riding on mine for 8 years) . The Chinese ones i use are £11 to £15 , the tannus ones are £60 , work it out for yourself 😉

Awesome video, what is the kind of Tanus (soft, regular,or hard) i think the hard one would be faster because of less rolling resistance!! What do you think!!

Find my Tannus "squirrelly" at normal speeds and worsens the higher the speed. Back to Marathon Plus' like my other bikes.
@DrJamesT4 жыл бұрын
Ron White I recommend marathon racer if speed is an issue. Normal marathons are probably the best mix. If you have $$$ Schwalbe One they are so damn sexy.

I was told to run my Schwarzenegger’s at 100 psi on the Brompton.
@DrJamesT6 жыл бұрын
Henry Partridge PSI also depends on your combined weight with the bike and your butt tolerance to bumpy roads. Schwalbe said to add air until the tire stops deforming under this weight at rest. You can go higher but the ride gets really hard. The recommended rating written on the tire is 55-85 PSI. I set it at 60psi to keep the playing field leveled with the Tannus. The rolling resistance at 60 psi feels the same as the Tannus.
@teaforthree16 жыл бұрын
Big League Cheers for that, very interesting. I did find the ride great at 100, little rolling resistance LOL. My predictive christened the Schwalbes Annie.
