Maharashtra was and will always be the trendsetter in modern india..when the Hindi belt was fighting on caste,temples and masjids..we were building dams, universities and developing MIDC this is a collective effort of that,, also there are a few drawbacks and negatives which we need to address also marathwada and vidharbha region needs to be fully developed...The best thing about my state is girls can come at home at 2am in the morning safe and sound,,we are brought up that way. Upon India's independence in 1947 the city was incorporated into Bombay State(modern day gujrat & maharashtra). In 1960, following the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement, a new state of Maharashtra was created with Bombay now mumbai as the capital. In 1960 pune was behind mumbai in terms of development in fact pune & A.nagar were competitors but now pune has left A.nagar far behind & also because Mumbai's strategic location. That's the reason why Mumbai was selected to be capital of maharashtra!

i am not sure but people say that Pune me sabse jada IT companies hai as compared to hyd. and Bangalore.. And many more "upcoming" IT companies are choosing pune as their preferred location.. so no doubt pune will be education as well as IT hub.. and also Mumbai me koi space nahi hai new projects ke liye to wo bhi companies pune aa rahe hai..
