How appropriate the new Prime Minister of Samoa introduced this powerful song by the Amazing Punialavaa. SAMOA MO SAMOA 🙏
@lone_tua4 жыл бұрын
This song for me personally means that Samoa is going through dark times at the moment, their's a threat to our culture, our lands, our believes and our constitution. To think how far we have come, our ancestors pave the way so that we may be independent from foreign rulers and freedom to govern ourselves. Mostly is our foundation, our small nation is founded upon GOD, those who fear GOD are loved by him, for those are the people that obey and honour him, and he will bless those. We have drifted away from him, saying goes "E afua mai i mauga le manuia ose nuu" our current leaders should put God first instead of playing kings with dirty politics. God have mercy on Samoa and may your blessings be upon its people.

Its how I found out about Punialava'a's new song.. now Im on youtube listenning to it from 3am this morning... its very emotional and at the same feeling so much courage knowing that this very beautiful song is bringing a very meaningful message to not only the audience's mind but hopefully to our whole island nations Samoa... Malo mo le pese malie faafetai mo siufofoga malie Punialava'a family... its a heartful one and im sure it gives a homeful feeling to everyone that came to listen to it... the song was written in 2019 when Samoa endured the measles that claimed 83 lives and 99% were our young babies. Our country mourned a great loss as well as uncertainty due to fear of children mostly to be infected. We mourned from the warmth of our home here in Auckland New Zealand. we were glued to the t.v for updates as well as social media for the latest from back home. So dad, went for his daily walk and started drafting his thoughts. Before 2019 ended the song was complete, but there were other commitments we had as a family that delayed the recording. Come 2020, the world had already been made aware of a pandemic called coronavirus. We went thru lockdown and so the song kept being postponed...but things happen for a reason and during lockdown my younger brother initiated that we have a facebook live jam time once or twice a week as we were free from any work, gigs and even schools. It was during these Facebook live that we learnt of how Samoans from all over the world were affected emotionally and psychologically. Lockdowns meant families were isolated. Parents who traveled were stuck (and some to this day) as they could not travel. we experienced funerals that children and loved ones could not attend because we were lockdown for our safety. So my brother requested that our father tweaks the original lyrics to include everything that we encounter as a nation. That is where this sound was founded on. We lived in our home for months in lockdown. We could only see our loved ones thru a screen of a phone or a laptop. Our loved ones who were essential workers risked their lives and ours so we can have food on the table and pay our bills. So we look back and think of our beloved Samoa. to have endured measles and now covid19, we could just imagine how everyone abroad is longing to see their parents, their spouses and their children. We may live abroad, but we will always treasure our beloved Samoa in our hearts. The lady in the beginning is my mothers sister, she too has been in Samoa all this time and we miss seeing her. I hope I've made sense of our song. and thank for your kind words. Ko rab'a Ko bati n rab'a from the Punialava'a family
