Welcome back...but, I can't believe you didn't mention the Mike Zeck limited series in any capacity. Aside from the gorgeous covers and interiors by Zeck, those five issues are the most important books for establishing him as the character we all know and love. ASM 129 introduced the Punisher, but that limited series defined him.

I recently picked up that first appearance of Microchip as part of an attempt to get first appearances of all of the characters in the Marvel Netflix shows. Surprisingly (to me at least), it only cost $4. ASM 161 was the comic that got me interested in the X-Men as a kid. I bought that and 162 a few months ago (again as part of my mission).

I was shoot steel with ample strikes (from others) so I can’t determine grouping. Generally speaking I shoot pretty well with pistol or rifle-unless I’m moving then all bets are off. 😂😂 I ran a couple of one handed drills with the 1911 .45 and I was just happy to (mostly) stat on target. 😂😂

I love that you’ve found a way to show your passion for guns with your passion of comics. I don’t go deep with Frank, I didn’t really understand the character till my son was born and I watched the Netflix series, but I would have included his appearance in Nam and something from the Ennis run, that being said I did not enjoy his later fights with Wolverine. Came off as too Freddy v Jason for me. I also enjoyed both of his meetings with Batman - Bruce and Azrael. Finally I like what they did with Punisher during Civil War and Dark Reign. Maybe they’ll do something different with him soon. Good to have ya back #welcomeback

It’s amazing the impact that a good show or movie can have on people’s interest in a character. I always found myself watching a show then seeking out the original material to read. I would also say that a good comic writer can spark that same interest-for me. I was never interested in Venom until Donny Cates. Jason Aaron captured my interest in Thor. Blah blah blah. @ I hear ya - in terms of Punisher i didn’t understand the character until I was married and we had our son. Frank experienced every family man’s worst nightmare and is now driven by a mission he can honestly never fully realize. He’s really similar to Batman in that regard. I have found as I’m older I’m looking for stories that connect on a different level. King’s Batman and Miracle Man series, are perfect examples.

Man I used to love the Punisher so much for so long. Unfortunate they've ruined it like so many other things. Have most everything on the list except for a couple. There was a point in the late nineties i had every punisher book published, including most every guest appearance etc.

Punisher War Journal #14 and 15 are a couple of favorites. Both have Jim Lee covers, and both have some Russ Heath interior art. Im not sure how much Jim Lee had to do with Spider-man at this point in his career, but i dont think it was very often.. i could be way off on that. Either way.. it has Spiderman on a Punisher title, and it's Jim Lee ❤❤❤
