Jii haan, I am partition born Hindustani living in Los Angeles since 1971, I have 2 kids from Hispanic ladies, don't ask me why ? I came across a documentary film on the local TV channel in 71', it showed second and third generations of the families who had sir names of Muslim Punjabi's and Sikh's. The name of the documentary film was " El Norte ". These people were all from the farming communities in central and southern California, at present they are all over California. There are Punjabi Muslim graveyards all over San Joaquin and Imperial counties of California going back to the late 1800's. I have visited them in Fresno, California, it gave me goose bumps when I read their names because they were my people from pre partition India. I felt like talking to those dead folks who left a land far far away at one time and are buried here in front of me. Jii haan I would have said these words if alive---- auron pe hai karam, auron pe nigaah, miyaan hum tho therey ghar ke hain. I may end up in that very same graveyard some day because my journey to America started for almost the same reason. Merii aakhri aarzoo koii padegaa mere jaane ke baad,---- na khaa hai phuul ke, na thalabgaar hai oodh ke, sirf mauthaaj hai hum ek durrodh ke.
