Loved seeing this from both perspectives! Also, to all you folks getting riled up by the trash talk... this shit is for fun. It's a game. Punk is drunk. And ALSO, Punk is a content creator. Trashtalk and a money match is fire and it good for both parties. (ngl, Punk could stand to tone it down a speck, but the sauce was at play here too lol) Good games and a great showing by both!

Great set, passion, drama. Its like watching an FGC soap opera Question to everyone saying Punk is carried by Sol. Wouldn't you do the same if it was that easy to take everyone's money? Sol's so OP that he won 0 Evos (or even any major events) prior to being nerfed, and now still has yet to win anything major. And anyone who knows anything about fighting games knows that when a character is so busted they carry like Leroy, or you're gonna see it everywhere winning and placing high in tournaments.

Pointing out that someone won with an admitted advantage = Realizing said individual cheated to win . Young one , you will some day learn that just because something is allowable and or is not illegal , does not make it right . That’s the premise of where these complaints are coming from . Want to really see who can play a game better ? Set a date for a match in advance and have it be a mirror match . Then the match up complaints are removed . There’s an assumption the the fight is supposed to be more or less fair in a 1 vs 1 fighting game . Though these two consented to the match and further , neither are responsible for their character’s implementation in the game ; it’s entirely understandable when audience members point out when the victor won with an advantage . Salt is a vital component to life . Balance the salt in your life will result in more delicious splendors in life . TLDR = your iq is sub 100

I just got into strive coming off the heels of Evo 2024 (I played a little before that but not much) Something special happened at Evo2024. Punk won SF6. I wont lie thats the only game I knew he played. I mean I figured he was alright at other FGC games, but not this good. Glad he isn't a 1 trick pony. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it seems like FGC is filled with just insanely talented players who can play everything. Punk, Sonicfox, Jwong, Diago, Arslan, Tokido, I hate to include him but Leffen. I am sure there are lots of people I am forgetting but these guys are all good at fighting games in general.

In my opinion, I think you handle this loss respectfully but not the shit-talk beforehand. I think you're downplaying the trash talk you were saying bout punk. You meant the disrespect when you called out his Millia, and you were sour about his Sol. I don't think a top-level player, let alone an EVO champ, can use the excuse "oh you're playing sol? you're carried." that's a bad look, and you're a good dude who doesn't need to look bad like that. You just won Evo and were probably feeling invincible which is understandable, but overall I think you coulda handle it a bit better. Because we all know damn well, Punk is gonna act a fool regardless. Great matches though. Was Rooting for that comeback at the end. Learn the match-up so you can get that run back with the ending we all want!

CAN SOMEONE PLZ explain to me why Hotashi doesn't use Nago's 236 S Projectile in the Neutral? I feel like I'm missed something...its plus on block, erases Gunflame, & although costly Fukyo advances Nago forward AND AND AND covers the air if you mash Close Slash...I've watched both sets between them and Hotashi hasn't used it once. Also his corner combos are not optimal idk if he's trying to stay BURST safe or what but he three at least 3 games due to sub optimal combos. SOMEONE EXPLAIN PLZ AM I BUGGIN?... Y Y Y?

Imo this had less to do with Sol being too good and more to do with Nago's holes in offense. Yes he can theoretically cover them all, but in a real match with an opponent who isn't only good at defense but offense too? Nago gets mashed/jumped on a ton. Hotashi got punished a metric fuck ton for trying to get at jumps before they happened with 2H or trying to stop the dashing with 2S. 6H kinda covers both but also leaves you very exposed when whiffed. I still think Punk is a great player but I imagine this set going very differently in another patch.

@@timwatkins7113 If I would to assume, it just isn’t useful to his play style. That’s the beauty of Nago, he has so many tools that in turn, you have many different play styles. Hotashi likes playing risky in order for the opponent to make mistakes and he is crazy talented at capitalizing off of his opponents mistakes. ZARAMEYUKI is honestly a pressure starter due to being +5 on block. That isnt necessarily useful for outright shimmying your opponent.

Disclaimer punk is amazing at lots of games, leagues above most of us regular folk. In 8 games in and punks entire gameplan is far slash. Block strings, round start, neutral, get in and out, mashing out of block. Plus just sol being sol and Punks entire gameplan is one button with access to everything else because sol has everything else. It's lame to blame a character but it's also an undeniable Fact that he's the best and easiest character by a mile and that makes a difference. One of the best fighting game players in the world and his whole game is one button is proof of that. Bragging about that and t bagging when I just watched you his FS literally 20 times in 10 seconds? I'm sorry that's just... Not at all impressive or worth bragging about to me. Big ups to Hotashi for posting a loss.

Sol is stupid for sure, but look how many of the EVO online regional champs who qualified for the final event are sol players....and look how many are Nago palyers...it is a factor.
