I was "blessed" for a short period of my life to work for a H&S training provider, and delivered HARM (Hazard and Risk Management) courses. Part of the course, at the end, was to get the trainees in groups of 3-4 to fill out JSA's. Probably shouldn't come as much surprise that debate raged over levels of likelihood and consequence in these small groups. It could have gone on for hours. It's soooooooooooo subjective. Probably also goes without saying that this level of (highly amusing) analysis doesn't and couldn't happen on the worksite in real life. Let's not even talk about individuals unique appetite for risk....... or should we? Working for the NZ Army Special Forces has certainly broadened my perspective on that.
