Konami's answer to Bally/Midway's Arch Rivals. As for the flyers in the intro screen whose initials are M.I.A., it refers to Missing in Action, which is the sequel to Green Beret/Rush 'N Attack. And in the wharf venue, there is a reference to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when a player falls into the open manhole and says "Hey! Who turned out all the lights" which is a jab at TMNT's "Duhh, who put the lights out!'' line whenever a turtle falls into a manhole.

Punk Shot plays is a traditionnal basketball game, but with beat 'em up elements added to the gameplay, developed and published by Konami in November 1990 for arcades.
