Sincerly i have always understood just a few words: hope, only one, my day will come.. That's enough to make me feel this was one of the greatest punk song I ever heard since the first time, so many years ago. Sublime's cover is amazing. A bit faster but killer. If I'm not mistaken this is a song about a guy in the friend zone who watches the girl he loves date guys who treat her like shit and he's saying that one day he'll have her and she'll realize what was right in front of her all along. Some people argue that this is basically an incel anthem for saying a line "Cause I'll have my way, you won't have a say anyway, 'Cause I got you, you don't stand a chance"...but I always felt like that was him saying once he makes his move he'll sweep her off her feet and overwhelm her with love and happiness.
