Here's to Punky Brewster! The critics are..well...they're basically telling how this show isn't going to win an Emmy. I don't care! The OG had touched my family's hearts. Those first two seasons were so good! Best wishes to the show, and it's entire cast! I've taken the time this month to learn more of some of the key actors to this show. Soleil, Cherie, the kids, and Freddie Prince Jr. all have podcast interviews on KZbin. I appreciate the time everyone has invested in sharing with us.

The day of the release, I watched all of it. It's a good follow up. Here is what bothers me a bit about the new show....the biggest thing. ... How in the hell did that apartment manage to acquire extra space to build a bedroom out that closet? The kid I had expected the focus on, wasn't. Not bad! All of the kids earned focus. Actually, everyone earned equal focus! Good story telling. The homosexuality was so normalized on this show, I'm wishing that more shows from yesteryear to today never highlighted those who felt so awkward about their identity that they altered themselves with extreme makeup or fashions that wasn't fooling anyone that these people had found themselves. Cherie, you done very good! The character Daniel, too. The best thing about him is, he is clearly gender fluid, and normal! I don't know how to better define that character. Put it this way, I'm a straight male, dress uniformly as male, but rocked those Punky shoes from Kmart FOR A YEAR. I didn't care. Now, I really didn't care for the new theme song. Come on! "Every time I turn around ..", and that's it? I think that Brandy isn't a wonder dog. Hell, he is quite a jerk, or a dumb dog, for peeing in the guitar case. That is what his moment was? LOL. geeeez. Alright, last of all, the big moment was good enough. I was honestly not looking forward to it. But, those scenes felt the absolute most like the OG show. There were solid moments that made me feel the heart. So, if there is any follow through in the future, ......IDK, I'm still not excited about it! It should had happened 36 years ago!

The problem with critics are a lot of times they can be so pompous and can't understand that not everything needs to be heavy or intellectual or award seeking. There's real value in shows like Punky, Saved By The Bell, Family Matters, Married with Children, Who's the Boss, Hogan's Heroes, Green Acres etc. Shows that just entertain and make us laugh when we're down or lost. Tv does not have a lot of heart and genuine laughs anymore and that's why it's great to see shows like Punky make a comeback.

I spoke to you over the phone a couple of times back in the early 90s Cherie. I wanted to say thank you because 1984 my pops was in the height of his alcoholism, but through rages once everything settled down you guys brought me peace, its comforting knowing there is an opportunity to provide a better life for someone that you don't want to see endure the struggles you experienced growing up [this show put that ideal in my head]. I would get bullied by racist ass people at school, only to have to come home to be bullied by my parents. Thank you for helping me realize Death Row is not the only path thats available.

Im 48 remember the show on NBC at 8 i was 8 in 1984 i was 12 in 1988. I have the series on DVD now. Awesome. Punky was cute and so was Cherie 😊 i remember the Saturday morning cartoon were she used her punky power with the animal that came from Ireland.

The reboot is a look into the life of punky and Cherie 35 years later. The 80's was Punky love all day and Cherie LOVE!
