savage 10:24 Gordon the problem I have with making a spider-man film set in the current timeline is that most of the problems that the classic Peter Parker had wouldn’t fit anymore. For example, Peter Parker wouldn’t have problem fitting in with his peers because almost everybody is a nerd like him-that is why the MCU version of Flash Thompson is a geek that makes cringy jokes instead of a jock since most kids nowadays don’t like to do physical activities.

I personally love any and all things with the name “Spider-man” on it lol. I love both homecoming and ffh as well as the classic raimi films they were and always will be my childhood but they dont keep me from liking the new ones too. I dont understand why people divide so much in this community. Not all versions of spider-man can be the same, people grab onto stuff like comic accuracy and never let go. None of the three movie spideys are perfectly comic accurate. This kind of stuff blinds people and they end up missing epic content right in front of their eyes. Spider-Man has so many small scales stories and those are always my favorites; but I know they will not be put on the big screen. But if they made a live action Spider-Man anthology series with like the budget of Game of Thrones, or a cartoon with the same comicy art style as Into the Spider-Verse, that’d be a dream come true. My perfect Spider-man would be in a live-action TV show directed by Taika Waititi and Tim Burton. It would be in the 70's and it would take itself seriously and not at the same time. Spider-man's eyes would move like a cartoon, no electronical lenses but Deadpool style. Taika would take care of that. Tim would do serious scenes like the death of various characters. In every scene like that, Spider-man takes off his mask, because it would look weird if he cried through his mask at the death of Gwen Stacy with the eyes being movable. Each episode would be like a comic, nothing too long, 30 minutes max. It would show Peter growing starting with a not good-looking fella who just wants to be happy to a broken man, who suffered because of Spider-man, so he throws out his suit. Then, final season, Venom comes. An evil parasite from another dimension. This would be played out as Spider-man 3, having much more of an impact tho. In the final episode he get's off the suit and has to kill his only alive friend, Harry Osborn, to get rid of Venom. But Venom survives, weak. He tries to get onto Peter, but he grabs Harry's grenade or something and blows up himself, killing Venom and finally earning respect from all of the world.

I like your iteration of the web-swinger but, this sort of movie feels flat when compared to other live action movies. This kind of storytelling fits an animated cartoon series more, than a one shot live action film about Spider-Man.
@vulturebarbatus36105 жыл бұрын
I love how this idea is Spider-Man centric and that there is little to no distractions taking you away from the character but I just wanna add that as a guy who have already seen (read) this all before, I don't want the comics to be translated panel by panel to frame for frame. That would simply be boring imo. I mean, sure, a few references or callbacks to iconic comic panels would be great but I really don't want things to unfold the way it have already did in the comics. I want something fresh, a new take on the character while not distancing too much from the core values that makes the character great and unique. Great video tho!
@ton8g15 жыл бұрын
The concept's really great. It feels fresh & unique from other cinematic Spider-Man stories, but TBH, I think it would fit more as a stand-alone animated short or a backdoor pilot for an animated Spider-Man web series.

Congratulations, Channel Pup. You did the impossible: you made a fourth Spider-Man reboot sound great. First of all, I love the setting. The 60s setting is a breath of fresh air, and winter is my favorite season. Second, I love what you did with the characters. It makes sense that Aunt May and Uncle Ben would try to overcompensate for not being Peter's real parents, and it makes sense that Peter would feel hatred towards his fellow classmates and society in general. It makes not only the characters, but the story, feel a whole lot more human, realistic and grounded. I also like the idea of not trying to create a new suit, but simply using the classic suit. After all, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. However, you don't have the cartoon eyes which I disagree with. You don't need to use special lenses in Spidey's mask for the cartoon eyes and you don't need to have a specific reason for the cartoon eyes being there at all. They can just change sizes and express emotions for the sake of changing sizes and expressing emotions. I was going to list some of my complaints, but they were a little too excessive. Let's just say that I would rewrite your film a little bit. In closing, I would definitely go see this movie. You did a great job of writing this and I was genuinely invested in the characters and everything, unlike the other 3 incarnations. Keep up the good work ;)

I personally love Andrew Garfield’s spiderman, he fits the role perfectly not too old and not too young. The portrayal seemed very realistic too, struggling with keeping Gwen and people around him safe and the web swinging is hands down the best in any live action movie. It was darker than any other spiderman movie and the dumbass mcu kiddie spiderman would never which makes it so boring since nothing ever goes wrong with Tom Holland’s spiderman.
@skullkid64395 жыл бұрын
Kooleverest I completely agree, I hate Tom Holland's take on Spider-Man, he's just a cry baby that wants everything handed to him. If I had the ability to reboot Spider-Man I would've definitely made him more like the ultimate Spider-Man to fit within the modern day because that's Utimate Spider-Man. It's also because he's my favorite version, and Eddie could be a childhood friend just like from the Ultimate comics and he'd meet him after 2-4 films then it could probably show Peter first getting the black suit then Eddie. Basically I just want Spider-Man to be the Ultimate version completely or almost completely and at least die after 2 or 3 more films which should introduce Miles.
@nottookeenmusic99895 жыл бұрын
Dark Necromancer every single spider man film since Toby has tried to be ultimate spider-man. Just because of the excuse that it’s modern. I feel at this point we just need to get past peter in high school and college and try to just move closer to an older adult Peter similar to spider verse and keep him as a mentor to miles rather than dying just because ultimate did it.
@radrno75 жыл бұрын
Aidan Keen You had me until the Miles part. Miles belongs in Ultimate or Spiderverse only. Main continuity is only Peter Parker, with him dying and maybe his daughter picking up the mantle, or Miguel O’Hara.
@Xehanort105 жыл бұрын
@Tyler Davis. People dislike the Amazing Spider-Man films because of stuff like the stupid Peter and Gwen romance which came off as more lust than love. Electro was a dumbass who became obsessed with Spider-Man just because he saved him once and talked in electrical puns for half the film, that universe's version of Norman Osborn quickly dies without ever becoming The Green Goblin and Harry becomes the first Green Goblin instead. Harry only becomes a villain because of Peter's selfishness since Harry asked for some of Peter's blood to try and cure the disease that killed his father and was also killing him and Peter said no because it might mutate or kill him to which Harry rightly pointed out that he was dying anyway and had nothing to lose but Peter still said no and Harry feels forced to infect himself with the same spider venom that turned Peter into Spider-Man and that turns him into the Goblin. When Gwen's dad died helping Peter fight The Lizard he made Peter promise not to tell Gwen who he was and put her in danger only for Peter to keep dating Gwen and tell her he was Spider-Man anyway which later got her killed by Harry. The only guilt Peter felt about continuing to date Gwen was a hallucination of Captain Stacy that kept shaking its head at him. The whole "Peter's dad is a scientist trying to stop Oscorp's illegal research" thing was boring and the implication that Norman Osborn wanted to create human animal hybrids never went anywhere.

Why does no one understand that comic accuracy is one if the least important things when it comes to making a film and that u can never truly appreciate comic book movies unless u distance them from the comics themselves. Everyone wants to see films where everything is exactly how it would be in the comics and no one takes into consideration that some things don't translate onto the big screen very well at all. Some things need to be changed in order to make a film stand out. One if the biggest misconceptions among the comic book fan base us that comic book films are made for nostalgia, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Comic book films are made for the same reason any other film is made, to make a good film. So if the director has a genuinely good vision for a comic book film, don't get angry if it's not nostalgic or comic accurate, because that's not why they made the film. If the director actually has a vision that is genuinely good then comic accuracy does not and should not matter.
@t_r_a_y_e98585 жыл бұрын
I agree with you too a point, I think while yes it mostly should matter if the film is good over accuracy, but at the same time. If I watch a movie based off a certain character, I want to see THAT character, I don't care for the stories themselves being accurate, but I care for the character itself. Like whether it's spiderman or Batman or any superhero in the movies, I watch it too see the character and I want it to be faithful to the core values and beliefs of the character.

I’ve only just found this channel and already I admire how much attention to detail u pay towards ditko and lees work. U really capture Spider-Mans likeness in your takes and bring in newer ones for the villains. I love your origin for mysterio as well and this take really makes sense. Keep up the great work hope I see more

Hey, I really like your emphasis on allowing the music to take over and convey the emotions of the scene. That's something the HTTYD series does very consciously that makes me like it so much. Good work!

I like your take on Spider-Man, and would love to see it on the big screen! I’d do it differently however. I’d mix in elements from The Amazing Spider-Man #1 1962, Ultimate Spider-Man #1 - #7, and flashback scenes from Amazing Fantasy #15 except all in the timeline of the 2000s. (specifically 2002-2008) I’d make 2 physical suits, one inspired by the original red and black with a blue back spider symbol Ditko suit, and one inspired by the Ultimate (Peter Parker) Spider-Man styled suit. Both would have the same spider symbol I made on the front, the second suit would have another spider symbol that I designed for the back, and the other would have a blue spider symbol in the style of the Ultimate Spider-Man logo spider and web wings. (Sorry I got kinda carried away there..)
@orima35074 жыл бұрын
If I had to change something to your Steve Ditko suit is the back spider to be white because it really work better on the black (and I love the fact that you keep the web-wings and I think I would love a scene where Peter is Like:"can I fly with those ?" and try them but catch Himself back at the last moment with his web

Additionally, how they liked to show Peter under the mask with the “half mask” depiction. I think some moments, specifically, when he see’s the robber, would be a perfect moment to use that type of play on the character.
@xenobreakinskul95325 жыл бұрын
I think the ending is very simple. I know that's how it ended in the comics but the comics are not movies. They are more like shows and each comic is like an episode. That's why it was an ok ending considering it had no villains in there. But introducing Mysterio like that just seems kinda weak and why would spidey accept the challenge anyway? He is not a hero yet and mysterio is not offering money to him if he beats him. I feel like chameleon could be the main antagonist. Just like in the comics. The original ending can be the middle of the movie and the end can be spiderman catching chameleon who has been posing as spiderman for some time & that is why most people see spidey as a criminal until he clears his name by stopping chameleon and exposing him however j jonah seems to be the only one who doesn't buy it. The original ending just doesn't feel right. "Oh, newspapers think I should be arrested and im not getting credit for saving lives? Im going to swing around the city. END. That doesn't feel like an ending. This is all just my opinion. No hate.

That is honestly the best script for a superhero movie since Spider-Man 2 ( I have not seen FFH yet) and I really hope a movie studio picks up on this idea.
@Heyesy5 жыл бұрын
Well, maybe. But I think it sticks way too close to the original comic, with just very very small variations, if even that. It's basically just the comic in movie form. If he was going for that, great, but comic readers will know exactly what's going to happen, like with Mysterio from Far from Home, and it'll be boring to them.

There's a lot here that I like, although I think the whole thing with Peter ignoring the robber and that resulting in Uncle Ben's death would be way too close to Spider-Man 1 for most movie audiences. I mean, people are already tired of seeing Batman's parents axed in every movie and TV show, a similar thing with Spider-Man likely wouldn't be taken very favorably, even if it is faithful to the comics.
@UnknownUser-jv5fk5 жыл бұрын
I'd go for a different villain, maybe Doctor Octopus or Spencer Smythe.
@Xehanort105 жыл бұрын
I like how you combined the origin with the first Mysterio story. Peter originally wanting to become a TV star using the Spider-Man persona before it becomes a superhero identity after Uncle Ben gets killed is a great contrast to Quentin Beck wanting to become a fake hero as Mysterio. One started out doing things for publicity but became a hero after tragedy struck while the other's a narcissist who just wants publicity and fame.
@gamebotpocket5 жыл бұрын
This is exactly how I imagine my dream Spider-Man reboot, from the 1960's setting to the flawed selfish Peter to the original red and black suit. It's crazy that someone thinks so similar and I hope this means more people also want this kind of Spider-Man.
@adamking52153 жыл бұрын
my spider-man reboot would jump right into the action having the first scene being a montage of him getting bitten, then the car jump, then making his first suit and testing in his room/first web swing, then go to wrestling and have the robber get away. it would then take to the action scene of him taking down the robber inraged. finally it would settle down to him and aunt may being quite depressed in the apartment after uncle ben's death. I'm not sure what I would do from there, but I would take his suit straight from the newer comics, it would be a classic suit. it would be set around 2000ish set in late summer/early fall. the villain? I'm not sure but I'd either do one of the classics like doc ock or green goblin, or do a villian that hasn't been done yet. like maybe chameleon?

I think this is a good an accurate idea for an adaptation but I think there’s probably not enough in here to fully pad out a feature length film, sounds more like an origin 2 parter episode for a Spider-Man animated tv show set in the 60’s.
@jeremiahvaleska84645 жыл бұрын
Jackamoly you could probably stretch it out enough to be a film, tbh. Just look at the first 40 minutes of Spider-Man 2.
@jackablamo5 жыл бұрын
Jeremiah Valeska possibly but probably would be hard to make it engaging because it’s yet another retelling of the origin. I think it would need some more scenes added and maybe a different climax to make it flow

This was a very interesting pitch and I would definitely watch it! The only thing I would personally change would be that I don’t think before Uncle Ben’s death Peter would be inclined to give the $100 away to Aunt May yet but from the story you are telling I could see that it could be used to show he’s not just an angry guy but compassionate to his family as well
