Genuinely the lyrics meld so well with the instrumentation and the quiet at the end of the song shouts as loud as the rest of it. It brings me to tears. It brought me to tears when I heard it live. "Time and time again I've tried to get my act together." I relate to that on a whole other level. PUP is the soundtrack to every 18-28 year old bum who never seems to do anything as well as his friends, who isn't as good with girls as his friends, who isn't as well off in life as he thought he'd be by now, who's parents see as a loser, who's only joys in life are slowly fading away as they become less and less potent with each day that goes by, each beer downed, each pill swallowed and each joint smoked. For everyone of us losers PUP is there. Maybe you don't see the light at the end of the tunel and think you'll forever be a pathetic use of potential and maybe you will. But at least you can be listening to some bomb ass music while you waste your life away. Thanks PUP!

What's so good about PUP compared to so many other current bands is that they don't rely so heavily on their sound. They have a good sound, but that's just the start. They actually WRITE SONGS. So tired of the cool kid bands who sound like "they rock" and all the kiddos go nuts because they play their instruments in tune and on time and that's about it. Song writing. Underrated. Well done PUP.
