Stefan also featured in an installment of the "Suicide Buddies" podcast where he elaborates on this song (it's near the end). Edit 2020/03/16: The podcast is now called "Y'all Ever" and has an intro jingle written by Stef. The episode he was in is from March 7th, 2019.

a nugget so basically this man gets laid off but has a wife and son to support. he struggles with alcoholism and dept and he can’t do it so he kills him self with a gun. the song ends suddenly with the word “end” to show how fast his life was taken (found off of genius)

If you want the literal meaning it is about a man they met on tour who offered to let them crash at his house. When the band got there the place was dirty and riddled with needles and cigarette butts. Stefan said they slept on a grungy mattress in the basement (that's where the line about the mattress in the corner with cigarette butts comes from) and on the way out they saw a picture of a young kid 6-7 on this guy's fridge and the band realizes that it's easy to write these types of people off as fuck ups but they can see from the picture that this guy cares for his son he just can't get his life together. So they wrote a fictional song about how this man might have gotten into this situation and what the end could be.
