HI. After watching a couple of your video's, you don't show or mention the type of rig, bait, hook type and size, type and weight of sinker, where you cast it to 2nd gut or beyond),... all that helpful information. please add it to your commentary. It appears we fish PINS often. I'll look for you and say Howdy! Caught the pomps at the 25 on mon afternoon then went south on Tues morning because I wasn't catching any more there. The red and the sharks were around the 40.thanks for the comment.

Also...What type of rod are you using... length, action, weight etc. Type of reel and line weight, strength. Are you using braid or mono or other. If braid, do you add a top shot, mono shock leader? Thank you!

Hello Scott thanks for the comment . I use breakaway rods all 13 ft 1 is model hdx that is a heavier action with a akios 757 ctm casting reel spooled with 20 lb test mono with a shock leader of 60lb mono. also have 2 breakaway ldx that i would call medium action 1 with another akios 757 casting reel and 1 with a penn 6500 spinner all spooled the same as the first reel. For terminal tackle i tie my own double drop leaders using 80lb mono with 4/0 circle hooks with 6 oz of lead. As far as bait i mostly use dead shrimp with ez shrimp or ez flea held on the hook with bait elastic when casting for distance. i also have been using gulp surf bytes bright orange color that has been working quite well. i found those when i went to wall mart and they were out of fish bites. sometimes i will use live mullet or cut mullet also cut whiting As far as bait placement goes for pompano try to reach out past the second bar. thou i have caught plenty of fish in the first gut over the years pomps are generally out far. I have lived in south Texas and have been surf fishing most of my life either here or south padre when i was younger. i had a good childhood as my dad was an avid fisherman. Also when my parents divorced my mom married a fishing guide in port mansfield what luck yes being retired is great ive been retired for 3 years it sure is nice to be able to pick the nice days to go fishing. if i see you on the beach ill say hello give me a wave if i dont recognize your truck. thanks again Louie
