We loved our tri-collie. He was the best dog ever. He was 11 when he passed and I miss him every day. Wonderful temperament and very loving dog. If you get a chance to own a collie do it, you won't regret it.

@@Orahwilde I grew up with rough collies as a child and I Love them! Ready for a little puppy. Been looking Locally with no success. Even called local vets for a referral to help me locate one with good healthy DNA without hip dysplasia and no eye issues or epilepsy. No local breeders, none in the Shelters. STILL LOOKING:( Do YOU sell puppies?!! :D !

I am planning a upcoming litter when my girl "Winter" "Champion Wilde Manor's Lady of Carealot" comes into season, she will rebred to "Han Solo" "Wilde Manor's little Rebel" that litter will only produce Tri's and Blue Merles and all pups will be normal eyed. Forgotten how soooo cute Collies are. Makes you want to grab them cuddle them and kiss their dead cute faces. They are just cute and gorgeous when adult too. Use to be my favorite dog when I was a kid because of Lasse and his journeys. One reason Lasse was a favourite simply cos I use to ache to touch one cos of their cuteness. This video is a wow watch and worth all 18 minutes, wishing there was more.

beautiful dogs ! my family (well, me and my dad) is thinking about getting a dog and after a bit of research, the (standard) collies seem to match up with our wants and semi-needs the best. i also love their names; especially Solo's! (Star Wars... ahhhh)

Collies come in two verities Rough and smooth standard is the same for both other then coat type, so now all you need is to figure out if you want a rough coat that is long hairs as seen in the video or smooth short coat, both shed lol

Personally I'd go with a border collie instead. Only reason I don't have one, is that they need a garden to run in, and I live in an appartment, in a capital city. Having a border collie here, though legal, would be cruelty. It's an evil joke, all the most interesting dogs, to me, fall under working dogs, and I can't have any of them :/

+Kristian Brandt They are nice dogs as I hear and are cute but I just feel like, as you said, it would be cruel to own such a dog without having the proper conditions and ability to exercise. They have a lot of energy, more than a standard Collie, and the training needed for them are said to be a lot more demanding than I could handle, as a beginner dog owner. (I mean, with standard Collies, I'm willing to try and stretch my limits here if they were a demanding dog to train (i havent heard that they are) but Border Collies have just been bred for a lot longer and a lot more intensely with herding in the working lines and like I said, I don't know if I could handle it.) They are cute, though.

tyranny Well the really tricky bit about the border collie is that it's the most intelligent breed as of yet. This makes it a fun and interesting dog to own, but it also means that it may try to challenge the master-pet relationship. But it doesn't need a job as such, it just needs some running space. It just can't stay indoors all day, cause it'll get depressed. But make no mistake, the border collie is the best breed there is.

Yes Karen, I kept Han Solo and Pixel from this litter. they are now 2 years old, Han solo "AKA" Solo as we sometimes call him, is currently back in the show ring working on his championship and their sire Kane just earned his Grand , now goes by Grand Champion Wilde Manor's Twist of Valjaron . I have a few events going on but I hope to make a video showing some behind the scenes of the dog shows, and trying to get new video of the pups now that their adults.

Max height is base off the individual dog but 26" at the shoulder is the tallest for a collie within the breed standard but I have seen a very small hand full of others a bit larger. CH. Caralot's Classic Man, is just one of the smooth collies that is every bit 26" I would have to ask his owner to measure him to get the actuate size, but his sire is one of my boys Overland Mastermind who is 24 1/2" at the shoulder .

Oh yes! very much so! But they can get to the point that their training you, Collies also love to bark some will do it and others won't I have both! it's not easy to train out of them because their genetically programmed that way. but yes very intelligent, my puppies normally potty train themselves, I just provide the tools needed to help them and by the time their old enough for new homes their mostly or fully potty trained with little work on my part, but it is always the new owners responsibly to follow their schedules to keep up that training. and through puppy stages their will be times that more work is involved for other things but that is normal of puppies.
