I would recommend getting Molly bigger Kong toys. The larger ones are made of a thicker rubber and are harder for dogs to break through. Our American Bulldog has a crazy strong jaw, and he has never torn through a full sized Kong. But he is a naturally gentle dog, and rarely uses his full jaw strength.

Try soaking the toys in lemon juice. OR you can just put some lemon juice in a spray bottle and then spay the toys if you don't want to soak them! Hope it helped! :)

Our pits chew through the red kongs too. We use the kong extremes, they are black. They still chew through them but they last a little longer. We have some strong chewers too.

Get some Cherry Bitter Spray and spray it on the stuff that she isn't allowed to chew up ( couch, pillows, and rugs) and so she won't want to chew it. Did it to my Goldendoodle and it cured him!

Why doesn't anyone in the Butler family adopt dogs? Instead of supporting the breeding of dogs, adopt a dog so it won't be euthanized. You need a larger Kong for Molly, she shouldn't be able to chew up one that is the right size.

Because as much as adopting dogs is great, you just don't know their background. I would probably never adopt a great dane (this is the dog I want) because they have so many health issues and I want to know the background parents etc so I know they have tested for heart problems and hip/back problems so my dog will have been bred to not have these problems in their blood line.

Samantha Johnston Well actually very few breeders do thorough screenings of their dogs genetics, and the breeders that actually do screen sell their dogs for outrageous amounts of money. I used to also want a great dane until I saw the living conditions of the parents of these so called "reputable" breeders, a large amount are kept in small kennels or chained to whelping boxes unless a buyer wants see them. That being said there are good breeders, but even then, they are bringing more puppies into a world where thousands puppies are being euthanized daily because people have these preconceived notions that shelter dogs are unpredictable or badly behaved. I've had two purebred Labradors before, one from a great breeder (neither I paid for, just got them thorough circumstance) both died at an relatively young age, one from autoimmune and thyroid disorders, and one from cancer. The two dogs I got from shelters have been ten times healthier, and you can tell they know you saved them because they love so much harder, it's kind of hard to explain. So adopting is great, buying is supporting an already grossly overpopulated population of unwanted and uncared for dogs and cats. I'm not trying to tell you your'e evil for wanting to buy a great dane, I used to also, but then I got some first hand exposure to the whole system volunteering at a shelter and then I knew buying a dog is one of the worst things I could ever do. End of rant.

I don't know, I have had the opposite issue. I had a dog from the kennel who was brilliant there and when we got him home, bit my brother, was un-walkable and would not get on with other dogs so we had to take him back. I then got my two nova scotian duck tolling retrievers who were from an amazing breeder all on sight, all broughtup within a family environment and who also breeds great danes. They had a few puppy danes around and they were loved so much. All their dogs go through rigorous testing and they are a long term breeder. They said the tests they initially go through with their breeding dogs costs about what a one whole litter sells for and she does this once a year to make sure of no changed. She also will take back any puppy at any time of their lifetime if for some reason you cannot keep the dog, you also have a 1 year return refund guarantee if you don't get on with the dog. She is amazing, she tattoos them and microchips them, the microchip is changed to the new owners address and the tattoo is linked directly to her so that if a puppy goes missing they have 2 places to contact and gives the dog more of a chance to get back to their owners. It's backyard farm breeders that you need to look out for which are cheap. My tollers cost £850 each which I would happily pay for a Dane because you know the background so well, they are registered and show quality with champion blood lines. I have had the opposite problems but then I did extensive research to find the perfect breeder.

Dogs need to have things to chew on, it's just the nature of them. To stop getting her to chew up things you don't want her too, try taking whatever she has away and giving her a bone. The best bones to buy are tarter busters, smoked bones, or deer/elk antlers. Dogs love them, and they are good for their teeth. NEVER buy rawhide bones, they do not digest well and can cause health problems. Hope that helps! :)

For one you should get a Black kong they're for 'extreme' chewers. Also I think you should get the larger size. The one you showed is a medium and way too small for her. Try freezing the kongs with pb inside or other treats. Also try Antlers they last a long time. There are also toys called Goughnuts that I hear are very tough for chewers too.

Get her inexpensive pig ears or Hoofs. I had a chewer(but she was smaller) gave her the pig ear and that is all she would chew on. It's the lab in her, my lab chews all his toys up as well. I rather him chew his toys up then my furniture haha. Just give her lots of bones toys to chew. And exercise her a lots.
