I just love how this sub is so darned wholesome, and totally engaging. It’s my first YT watch every morning-I so much look forward to whatever small and beautiful thing is happening in Friesian Horse’s little slice of Dutch paradise. Yvonne is so refreshingly down to earth as opposed to the high drama and huge egos of too many YT “personalities”. Daily posts about gorgeous, sweet tempered horses, herd dynamics, riding and driving carts, and various canine, feline and human players are 1000 times better than anything else on YT, IMO.

@anti-ethniccleansing4653 жыл бұрын
Me too! It sickens to no end whenever I see a dog’s tail docked, or their ears clipped, or cats having been declawed, etc. People can be so unbelievably wicked and cruel to animals (even when they are considered to be “pets“ that they are supposed to be the guardians of, with a role of responsibility for their animals’ well-being/health/happiness)... It is beyond gross when they justify their cruelty with nonsense excuses like _”the animal looks better being mutilated like this.”_ Even worse, people will do it with a technique that is long-term suffering with no anesthesia/pain killing (i.e. When they dock their tails via a rubber band to cut off the tails’ circulation, to cause it to rot and fall off, which I believe takes weeks for the process to be done). 😢 Also, have you seen how they do it with lambs/sheep? I almost puked when I watched a video that showed the cruelty in the wool industry. There is so many things that they cruelly do to these lambs/sheep (just like every animal in the livestock industry of course), but one of the things they do is using a hot knife to just cut off their tail without any anesthesia/pain killers whatsoever. It begins gushing blood of course, and so they cauterize it with a hot iron to stop the bleeding... I’ve not eaten meat for 30 years now, but after watching that video, I will never again buy anything made with wool either!!! Btw, you can see videos of what I’m talking about by doing a KZbin search for “cruel wool industry.”
@kalayne67133 жыл бұрын
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Good on you! I live in rural Australia, I see the inhumane treatment of animals every day under the guise of 'animal husbandry'. I have a long way to go to clean up my own act but havent knitted with wool for years. Thanks for spreading the word.
@anti-ethniccleansing4653 жыл бұрын
@@kalayne6713 I appreciate your support for what I wrote, and I’m glad to hear that you don’t use wool either! 😊 I understand that it is very hard to cut animal products out of our lives, because it’s in nearly _EVERYTHING_ these days! It takes not only a lot of informing oneself, but a lot of self-restraint and will power as well. I, too, have a ways to go to “clean up my act.” It’s really difficult though at the point I am in, because I have a disability which prevents me from standing very long in the kitchen to cook. It’s difficult to get enough nutrition with a vegan diet unless you are able to prepare food/cook a good deal. So I have been a vegetarian for 30 years and have made many substitutions where I can, like buying oat milk instead of dairy milk and such (to my surprise, the oat milk was astonishingly way more delicious than dairy milk!), but it is also an issue of money in being able to buy some substitutes like egg replacements, vegan cheese, etc, because they are so much more expensive than the real thing - and even the real thing can be expensive as it is when trying to buy the most conscientious option - like pasture raised eggs etc (my disability has left me out of work since 2004 and on a low fixed income). If I was able bodied and still able to work, I would totally be a vegan, and it’s really frustrating that I can’t do it. Just to make something like vegan cheese from cashews (like so many vegans do), costs a small fortune. 😢 If the livestock industry wasn’t subsidized at all, or to the extent that it is, then so many more people would be going vegan and the cost for vegan products would come down a lot. I encourage you to keep trying though! I will as well. They are worth it, the poor innocent souls.

I didn't dock my late Rottie's tail either, but once they are full grown and are 125-135 pounds of muscle, their tail is like a whip! I cannot tell you the amount of bruises I had on my legs daily. Once I got hit in the face with it while grooming him; I thought it broke my nose, but luckily it was just a black eye. I think that may be why their tails are docked, but I still couldn't bring myself to get it done. He's been gone for many years but I still miss him- and his girlfriend- who was a calico cat! He'd lick her belly everyday, give up his giant bed for her and even share his dinner with her- true love!
@tais13553 жыл бұрын
the only type of docking I even semi-approve of is the docking done on little cattle dogs. as it was explained to me, it’s dangerous to leave their tails long due to the risk of being stomped on by a cow. infection could set in before the human notices, or the dog could be distracted by the pain and be further injured by a cow.

I’d like to see more of sweet Rising star. He’s still such a little boy. It doesn’t seem like foals latch on the utter very long . Just curious why.😍❤️💙❤️💙 love the Rottweiler pup, omg so adorable. shots is so big and beautiful.

Lovely to see the dogs interacting. It is interesting that Sanne is so independent and confident, as though she knows she can find Sjirke (hope my spelling correct!) whenever she needs.

Hi Kay! Sanne was just taking her time leaving the stable, looking around at everything! Got to love her Independent streak!
